Good evening all just a little service announcement! XXVII would like to introduce apprentice artist Kim, aka "Godspeed tattoo" :) some of you will have met Kim already but if not then...

Hello! My name is Kim (Godspeed Tattoo),
and I’m an apprentice at XXVII Art, Illustration & Tattoo

For those who don’t know me here’s a little introduction :) I’m 24, I love books, music, dinosaurs, Bluey (yes, the kids TV show) and all things nature. 📖🎵🦖🦕💙🌿

I have been passionate about art since I was a child. That passion grew and my respect for the art of tattooing inspired me to start a career in the tattoo industry. My favourite styles are black and grey realism & illustrative/blackwork.

I can’t wait to continue my apprenticeship at XXVII! Developing my skills and learning so much from Jory so far has been incredible.

There’s much more to come, so I appreciate all the support and everyone following along on my journey. 🖤

HALLOWEEN TATTOOS!!!

Ok so this may seem like I'm massively jumping the gun but I'm starting to book up for October already and that means "Spooky season" is fast approaching! I'd really love to fill as much October space as possible with some seasonal tattoos so I'm thinking Horror portraits, Aliens, Monsters, Halloween Simpsons, Witchy stuff, Cats/Rats/Bats, Zombies, Small Flash bangers, Ghosts, Spiders, Pumpkins, Demonic stuff, Clowns, Skulls or anything generally Creepy and weird! Who wants to grab a Halloween slot? Let me know ASAP. As always I'll be offering discounts on larger pieces in return for some free reign on design and style.

Also...i may have gone a little overboard in the TKMaxx Halloween aisle today shopping for Studio decor to get XXVII Art, Illustration & Tattoo looking the part!

Its been a long couple of days but managed to get a whole load of this lower leg done. Including knee cap, shin onto the foot, side and back of calf! This is roughly 12 hours work and the peonies on the side of calf were tattooed completely freehand! Sketched onto the skin straight from the needle and then we just went for it.

Set of four original British bird illustrations now available at the studio for £100 each or £350 as a full set. These are original artworks and not prints and will be sold framed and ready to hang. Ideally I'd like to sell them as a full set hence the discount.

If you're an established tattoo artist looking to work in the south Derbyshire, Derby and Swadlincote area or you'd just like a change of pace then I'm looking to offer a work station to 1 or possibly 2 artists at XXVII Art, Illustration & Tattoo located in Melbourne, Derbyshire. I'm looking for someone with a strong portfolio and a focus on art and illustration who wants to grow and improve their art. If you'd like some more information then drop me a message. My June is now fully booked and my July dates are limited so if you'd like to get booked in for July/August drop me a message and let me know what you have in mind. Thankyou all for keeping me so busy whilst the studio finds its feet!

Going forward I'll be looking to book some more fun and colourful projects where I can take some free reign in terms of design/style. If you'd like a large scale watercolour floral/animal piece or a pop culture sleeve of gaming stuff, Simpsons, Marvel, Movies etc then feel free to get in touch. These projects will be done at reduced day rates.

Tattoo artist position and collaborator opportunities available 💚🙌

I'm really happy with the way the studio is coming together and starting to work now. I'm slowly working on getting the wall space filled with lots more original artwork both in the gallery space downstairs and the upstairs studio area. If anyone else here is an artist, Illustrator, tattoo artist or photographer etc, and would like display their work at XXVII Art, Illustration & Tattoo then please drop me a message.

I'm also still looking to invite another already established tattoo artist to come and work alongside myself. If you're looking to have a change of scenery and value a nice chilled workspace where you can just concentrate on tattooing and creating art then I'd love to here from you :)

Melbourne is a fantastic artsy little town close to Derby, Swadlincote and Ashby de la Zouch. Donington park the home of Download festival is right on the doorstep as is East Midlands Airport. Melbourne is surrounded by beautiful countryside and some amazing pubs, restaurants and attractions.
