If you enjoyed seeing our ceramicist/sculptor DavidWilliamSampson Ceramics pieces on the grand mantle piece in the gothic hall why not pop down to the TOASTED_Ceramic_Fair Long Eaton Art Room in a couple of weeks time. David will be there together with a whole host of other talented artists. Well worth a visit!

THANK YOU... We would all like to pass on our thanks to each and everyone who has come to visit us this past week. It had been an absolutely amazing experience for us all to exhibit alongside each other and in such a marvellous setting.

A huge thank you to all the staff (John in particular) .castle for looking after us too. We couldn't have done it without you.

At the end of the day, all the roses from the exhibition hall were taken to the Harrington mausoleum to give further thanks to Charles and Maria. We had quite a few ghostly goings on but we think that they must have loved all the attention, and the hall being filled with such amazing artwork and positivity.

Another day dawns at at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire. Tomorrow is our last FULL day, and then we are open till 2pm on Sunday.

Again, we have been overwhelmed by the response we have had and would like to say a big thank you to all the visitors so far.

Wow, what a busy day!!! We are all set up and ready for our opening event tomorrow from 9am - 4pm at the Gothic Hall .castle... We finished setting up early so opened the doors for a sneak preview to people who were out and about to get some feedback...it was all very positive...and also became very busy 😂... We were blown away.

We think tomorrow is going to be very special and we cannot wait ###

Illustrator Kim Fowler, who also designed our logo, has created this limited edition print of the 'Eye of the Beholder', printed on pages from Romeo and Juliet, which will be available to purchase from the Gothic Hall .castle as part of Mirror Mirror Art Exhibition in February.

All proceeds from this print will go to FND Hope UK - Functional Neurological Disorder , a charity which helps suppost people who suffer with Functional Neurological Disorder.

Who is this Ludwig fella???

After a couple of years illustrating animals I decided a needed a new challenge and wanted to flex my painting skills... Randomly, I watched a documentary on the fairytale castles of Ludwig II of Bavaria which formed the basis of a new body of work.

Ludwig loved his birds and was obsessed with swans. I decided to create a series of paintings on his castles combined with birds that featured as emblems in his life. Ludwig was also obsessed with Wagner opera's, in particularly, Lohengrin... and I thought as a nice round-up of the project, to produce a theatre poster advertising this. Hence my journey into the world of art nouveau ❤️

How it all began... well sort of!

My studio/girl cave, is at the lovely , but prior to this I was based in Derby for a number of years; in case some of you recognise my work from there. I actually acquired my studio space when my drawing of a sleeping Barred Owl ‘Daydreamer’ won me the Banks Mill Prize at the Derby City Open art competition.

This gave me the confidence to start my wildlife drawing illustrations, and even to this day I like to include animals within my work. I believe that nature, and art, are the last forms of magic, and both need to be treasured.

My work has developed so much from then but the level of detail has always been my signature. I owe a lot to this little owl with the fluffy eyelids!
