Hall Place

Hall Place Hall Place is a stunning Tudor house with magnificent gardens. You can also follow us on Twitter @HallPlaceBexley. Sitting on the banks of the River Cray, Hall Place was once the country residence of Sir John Champneys, a successful merchant and former Lord Mayor of London.

Today you can imagine genteel life in Tudor times as you explore the 500-year-old historic house or take a stroll in the spectacular gardens. Throughout the year, exciting exhibitions and events make Hall Place the perfect destination for all the family.

When was the last time you took a moment for yourself? To just sit and listen to the sounds around you, and soak up the smells that autumn is bringing. Nature is all around us and is amazingly calming, so why not take a stroll through our gardens and allow yourself a moment from the stresses of everyday life. Take some time for you. #worldmentalhealthday #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters Samaritans Mind

Hall Place Bird Hide Update

We just want to thank everyone for their patience while we address the current issues at the Bird Hide and on site. We are being advised to keep the Hide closed for a little while longer in order to help bring the situation under control. We are hopeful though that we will be able to reopen it with limited feeding soon. We are aware this is a popular area of Hall Place and we are keen to ensure that everyone can enjoy and witness the fantastic wildlife we have on site as soon as possible from this station

The nights are starting to draw in and it can only mean one thing…winter is on the way (and jumpers are now a necessity in the evenings!).
It also means the gardens will be changing to our winter closing time of 5pm from 1st October.

03/09/2021

Due to a recent increase in the sightings of rats within the vicinity of the Hall Place Bird Hide, we have been advised to remove the feeders in order to bring the situation under control. Our main aim is to protect the wildlife, and stopping the feeding source available to the vermin will drive them away from this area. By driving the vermin away, Hall Place can then address the situation without causing any harm to the river wildlife. We appreciate that this is not ideal to the bird watchers, however we hope this will only be a short term situation and we will be able to resume limited feeding shortly.

Unfortunately the Bird Hide has had to temporarily close completely due to a series of wasp nests found in the roof structure today. We will review this situation daily and update when we are able to re-open.

We hope that visitors will be able to continue to enjoy the sights to be seen from the popular Bird Hide shortly and watch the wildlife feeding from the natural habitat.

Hello, can anyone please let me know if the daffodils are out yet in the park. I’m really looking forward to seeing them as soon as they are!
Infrared approach to Hall Place www.derekmichalski.com
Just two of a number of infrared images taken recently at Hall Place
Disgusting you’ve just charge me a pound for 1 oz of hot water for a babies bottle! Defo not baby friendly!
Very surprised to see large amounts of the invasive himalayan balsam in Hall Place today. Does this need reporting to local council or environment agency?
Popped by to feed the wildfowl my lettuce and peas. These goslings seemed happy with the wild plants on the bank.
If anybody's lost their keys, we found this set of two silver keysbin the grass at Hall Place yesterday evening. We placed them on the closest picnic bench - side of the river opposite to the house, the end by the visitor centre/Miller & Carter.
Does anyone know what time Hall Place is open until today?
Just been to Hall Place for our daily walk, which was deserted. Great that it's open, but someone has spray painted two lines outside claiming the distance is 2 metres (see photo) when it's very clearly not. I am 1.8m tall and I'm at least a head taller. Normally I'd make some sarcy comment about someone's incompetence, but if social distancing is to be taken seriously, than it's actually dangerously misleading.
