We’re turning 25, and what better excuse to throw a house party! 🎉

This September, we’re handing the House over to Classical DJ for three very special sessions, filling the rooms with Handel, Hendrix and everything in between.

Classical DJ duo Georgia Mann and Rob Winter are known for presenting classical music in a fresh, modern way. Georgia presents BBC Radio 3’s most listened to show, Essential Classics, while Rob is a sound engineer, mixing everything from the BBC Proms to Paul Weller albums!

For our House Party, they’ll bring two very different musical worlds together, with Handel and Hendrix playing throughout the very rooms they once called home.

Royal Albert Hall 1969 Programme: Electric Church ⚡

We absolutely love this insert from the 1969 Royal Albert Hall concert programme, where Jimi reflects on belief, music and what he meant by his idea of the “Electric Church.”

“I can’t express myself in easy conversation... But when I get up on stage – well, that’s my whole life. That’s my religion. My music is electric church music, if by ‘church’ you mean ‘religion’.”

It’s such a personal insight into what performing and making music meant to Jimi, and exactly the spirit we wanted to capture with our own Electric Church.

To celebrate 10 years of sharing Hendrix’s London story, and will fill St Pancras Old Church with live music for a very special night inspired by Hendrix’s belief in its power to move and connect people.

Working closely with our Learning & Communities Manager, you'll help deliver inspiring learning experiences, support the launch of our new Early Ears programme, build relationships with schools, and bring the stories of Handel and Hendrix to life through music and creativity.

At Handel Hendrix House, we have a rare and exciting opportunity to acquire a remarkable painting that offers a fascinating new insight into Handel's world.

This previously unseen work by Gawen Hamilton has apparently never been exhibited, researched or reproduced before. If successful at auction, we will be able to preserve it for future generations and share it through exhibitions and research at the museum.

As an independent charity, we can only acquire objects of this significance with the support of people who believe in preserving our shared cultural heritage.

Every donation, whatever its size, will help us act decisively at auction and give this extraordinary painting the best possible chance of remaining in public hands, rather than disappearing into a private collection.

It’s been a busy week at the House but... it’s finally here! Our new exhibition ‘Hendrix in London’ opens tomorrow!

Drawing on remarkable archive material, the exhibition explores Hendrix’s life through the people, places and everyday moments that shaped his time here at Brook Street. From handwritten notes to dry cleaning receipts, business contracts to fan letters, these objects offer a fascinating glimpse into both the world of a global music icon and the reality of life behind the scenes of the late 1960s music industry.

‘Hendrix in London’ is made possible with the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to money raised by National Lottery players.
