Formed by soprano Mariana Rodrigues and harpsichordist Andrew Cowie, Chantefable brings a unique approach to musical storytelling.

The name 'chantefable' comes from a 13th-century French tradition of ‘song and story’, alternating spoken text with sung passages. Inspired by this ancient form, the duo combines vocal music, spoken poetry and improvisation, weaving together elements of early music, folk, jazz, opera, oratorio and Renaissance repertoire.

For their upcoming Handel's Salon, 'Heaven & Hell', they'll be exploring the highs and lows of the human condition through Handel's music, poetry and improvisation, all performed in the very rooms where Handel once lived, worked and entertained.

London-based blues musician Andy Cortes first made his name as a young guitar prodigy on the city’s jam scene. His latest project, HOT JAM, takes things right back to the spontaneity of live performance. Recorded direct to tape at Damon Albarn’s Studio 13 alongside an incredible group of musicians, including Bruno Major and Moses Boyd, it’s a raw celebration of blues music and genuine musical collaboration.
And where better to hear that than Jimi Hendrix’s bedroom! You may recognise Andy from his performance alongside Kim Nicky at one of our personal favourite Jimi Sessions. This time, though, he’s back for a session of his own! 🎸

What a weekend! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Hallelujah House Party and helped us celebrate 25 years of opening our doors to the public. It was such a joy to see the House so full of people... and music!

And Classical DJ, you were just perfect! Melding Handel and Hendrix together so effortlessly, like it was always meant to be 🎶

We couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark such a special anniversary ❤️

It’s here! 🎉 Our brand new exhibition, Hallelujah House: Inside Handel’s HQ, is officially open!

Celebrating 25 years of Handel’s London home being open to the public, the exhibition takes you inside the music made at 25 Brook Street and the extraordinary life he led here.

As you wander through the House, discover why it was far more than simply a place to live. Uncover the stories behind some of Handel’s greatest works and follow the music created within these walls as it travelled across London, from its theatres and taverns to grand royal occasions.

Bringing together loans from the National Portrait Gallery, the Foundling Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, The College of Optometrists and rarely displayed objects from our own collection, Hallelujah House reveals even more of the people and stories behind Handel’s London life.

Are you an early-career baroque musician or guitarist looking for your next opportunity? 🎶🎸

Applications are now open for our brand new 'Baroque & Roll Residency', a free, year-long programme supporting the next generation of musicians.

We’re looking for six musicians to join us throughout 2027: three Baroque instrumentalists (including singers) and three guitarists inspired by the electric and acoustic music of the 1960s.

From masterclasses, workshops and professional development to performing at Handel Hendrix House, the residency is all about giving emerging musicians the experience, skills and support to take that next step.

His breakthrough album Sundancer reached No.1 on the USA Soul Blues Album Chart, while his live performances have seen him share stages with the likes of Razorlight and Dire Straits’ John Illsley.
The Jimi Sessions bring original live music back to where it belongs: Jimi Hendrix’s bedroom! Think a packed room, people sitting on the floor and musicians jamming just feet away from you. A proper 60s house-party vibe in the room Jimi once called home.
