Fantastic to see this one-of-a-kind workshop is happening again. This will be a great part of the PhotoILKLEY activities. Also, love the footage shared here from the previous workshop taken in our Manor House space. Shows off how our space has so much versatility for creative activities as well as exhibitions and concerts. Looks like so much fun. 🙌😊

Remembering David Hockney (1937–2026)
One of Britain's best-loved artists, born just down the road in Bradford, has died at the age of 88.
Hockney had a rare way of perceiving the world that ran through everything he made. His work is full of vivid colour combinations, an uncommon eye for pairing warm and cool tones, and a dynamic, energetic use of colour that feels almost musical.
He once described how, "if the water surface is almost still and there is a strong sun, then dancing lines with the colours of the spectrum appear everywhere," a summary of his own way of looking at the world.
As he put it himself: "The world is very beautiful if you really look at it. Look with intensity."
He has left his mark on British art, and on Yorkshire.

Victorian Life at the Old Castle is on display now in the Manor House. Our Community Curators have brought together the story of the Old Castle cottages at the Manor House in the 19th century and the people who lived there. A lovely exhibition that rewards a closer look.

📣 Opening this Weekend! Our Exhibition of Victorian Life at the Old Castle looks back at the lives of those connected to the Manor House cottages, opening up the human stories embedded in the building’s past. The exhibition run from 6–28 June.

RE-PLAY .... a group show of 22 artists, 6 – 28 June 2026.

From this weekend, Ilkley Manor House will present RE-Play, a joyful and imaginative exhibition celebrating the creative process, the pleasure of making and the playful possibilities of contemporary art.

Curated by Kathryn Fox & Andreea Chițan, RE-Play brings together painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, print and textiles, work that reflects on play, repetition and the imaginative life of materials.

This week is Volunteers Week and a chance to recognise and celebrate our volunteers, who generously give their time to support the Ilkley Manor House whether behind the scenes as our Trustees, engaging with visitors or helping with activities around the house, such as our gardening team.
