A huge thank you to our 12 artists and all who have supported us, many for the first time, in our new location, and others who have travelled from afar

We made it!

About 8pm last night the bunting and lanterns went out and we got these photos

Then a few signs around the village

We’re open from 10am today - and looking forward to a sunny evening PV from 5.30pm (we’re so lucky to have hit good weather)

12 artists have poured life and love into their work

48 hours

Here's the last two days of frenetic activity captured in a few snaps and two quick pieces of video

Pulling an exhibition together is a long cross-country route with an uphill marathon sprint at the end - especially when you're trying out a new space and everything is an uknown

How do we want viewers to navigate the show? What will fit where? How will the hanging system operate? Where are the natural and electric light sources? What looks best in which space? Where are the showstoppers? How will large and small pieces interact in the same space?

It takes days to get things looking good and to do justice to all the wonderful art on display - we're about half-way there this evening

And it's worth all the work: this Friday we open Pride of Place at Jacques Barn in beautiful Stourton (near Shipston-on-Stour) and share the front-of-house experience with all of you... We're open from 10am till 5pm and the Private View starts at 5.30pm and runs till 8

Thank you to all the artists who have delivered new work and supported on publicity and positivity, particularly in the last few days 😍

Bold brews: tea time, reimagined ☕🌸

Vibrant cups, bold blooms and playful spots combine in this quirky new series of original paintings by Carole Condé — perfect for kitchens, conservatories and breakfast corners in country cottages or contemporary interiors.

Pouring colour and character into every surface and detail, Carole’s created this joyful new collection of cup and mug paintings with floral and spotty backdrops — designed to brighten your favourite spaces.

The perfect tea-time tableaux, these playful cup and mug paintings look beautiful as a duo or as a striking gallery-hung display.

A drop of quintessential Englishness with a generous dose of modern chic, conceived and painted exclusively for our Pride of Place exhibition opening next Friday 22 May.

Do stop by for a cuppa…

Palette to Palate - enjoy fine art and fine food in a great village next Friday…

We’ve teamed up with The Cherington — one of the three local Happy Wolf gastropubs — to offer exclusive meal vouchers to visitors attending our Pride of Place show, opening next Friday, 22 May.

On a first-come, first-served basis, visitors can enjoy the wonderful creations of our regional artists and pick up a voucher for 20% off their food bill* just a few metres down the lane in Stourton.

The Cherington serves a wide variety of delicious dishes, from classic pub favourites to inventive seasonal specials — all made using locally-sourced ingredients prepared fresh each day. Add in superb hospitality from Helen and Cat and you’re in for a real treat.

So, please come and feast your eyes on the tempting art before feeding your appetite with a tasty meal in this beautiful North Cotswold border village.

And, whisper it quietly for now… the forecast for next Friday is currently a GLORIOUS 24 DEGREES — perfect for what could be the first non-chilly outdoor food-and-drinks evening of 2026, under the stars.

*Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion and must be redeemed by 30 June, lunchtime or evening. Please book ahead for the 22nd.

More puppy love - meet Rex!

Rex is a classic, strong, and historically popular dog name of Latin origin meaning “king”. While widely used in the mid-20th century, it's now considered a retro or traditional choice, often associated with loyal, confident or German Shepherd-type dogs. It also pops up in popular culture, such as the dinosaur in Toy Story, carrying a humorous nostalgia associated with childhood and innocence.

In this case.... Rex is a white-grey handsome greyhound, painted by Grenville Moore, looking for a loving home and, to that end, putting his best side forward at our Pride of Place exhibition later this month.

Will you fall for his charms?

Raised in a barn

Barns are a bit of our theme in our Pride of Place show

We're holding the exhibition at Jacques Barn in Stourton, we're about to do up another barn at our new abode (destined, one day, to be an arty venue) and the very talented Viv Beaumont has just delivered to us this triptych of Blue Barn I-III textile works

These are mixed media works on cotton - machine-stitched, layered collage with abaca (banana h**p) and blackthorn, plus gold leaf, with painted and starched sections for the barns themselves and a monoprinted and stitched figure

They're packed with symbolism and imaginative use of materials - everything we'd expect of this inventive artist

They measure 60cm square, framed

Don't miss them!
