Happy Birthday for tomorrow your Majesty 🥳 This doll of a young Prince Charles is a part of the Angela Bevan doll collection which the museum holds. The collection consists of historical figures from 1066 to the current King 👑 The figure of Queen Elizabeth 2nd in her coronation dress is always out on display but for this special day we thought King Charles would like to join her 😀 Angela always considered the Queen to be the best doll she had made - she wrote to Norman Hartnell to request the exact design details of the coronation dress to make sure her model had complete accuracy! 👏 Museum open Saturday & Sunday 12-4pm ✨

The Yo-yo has been in existence since ancient times - a Greek vase (c440BC) shows a boy playing with a terracotta Yo-yo 🪀 In the Philippines a type of Yo-yo was used as a weapon to strike a victim on the head! Our Tonbridge ware Yo-yo depicts scenes from Brighton, is early 19th century and I clearly need to practice a lot more before I can compete against Mir Kim of South Korea the current world Yo-yo champion 😱 You can pick up a wooden Yo-yo from our shop to practice your moves! Museum open Saturday & Sunday 12-4pm 😃
