🏅🔥Medal Monday 😎🔥🏅

A few weeks ago at the fantastic Rural Past times event at Horns Cross saw our very own "Jess" took home "Best engine in show" award during the two day country show🤙🔥🔥🔥

Owned by High Weald organisers Dave and Will Mansi, "Jess" was chosen by the cup sponsor due to their outstanding effort in carrying out the wood sawing duties throughout the weekend providing the visitors with a unique chance to see how steam changed the very fabric of rural life 💪🤠🔥🔥

"Jess" has been on the rally scene in Sussex for nearly 10 years covering thousands of miles with not just living vans but heavy haulage trailers as they demonstrate just how it was done back in the day 😎

Well done guys, "Jess" is a true credit to you and the incredible achievements you've carried out over the years 🏅🔥🔥

Seen travelling along the A22 towards Hellingly this morning in preparation for the fantastic Festival of transport which is taking place this bank holiday weekend located near Hailsham📍🗺

"Nightmare" and her crew have always been fantastic supporters of the High Weald Steam Working Weekend and it's always a true pleasure to welcome these guys along 😍

Keep supporting those local rallies and country fairs......winter is coming 😳🧥❄️

Taken on the Saturday evening of our 2026 High Weald Steam Working Weekend, we can see a special line up engines courtesy of the Searle family as they meet the mighty Battle of Britain class "Sir Archibald Sinclair" on the up evening diner service 🍾🔥🔥🔥

We are extremely blessed to have the award winning Bluebell Railway flanking the High Weald site which allows for not only beautiful shots like these but also the chance to hear the emotional sounds of a chorus of whistles as road steam meets rail 🤩🍻

Taken by the outstanding photographer SiCol transport photography on the Sunday of our 2026 rally, we can see an amphitheatre of activity as the Bluebell Railway's 01 Class passes the "Play pen" with the lunchtime pullman 🤠🤙🍻

Can you believe the last time Sussex had significant rainfall was when this photo was taken........... at the beginning of June 🤯😳

😱😱😱☔️🌦🌧

Taken just as the pair of singles "Jess" and "Endurance" completed their successful journey from Horsted Keynes station and the Bluebell Railway to the rally site at Freshfield Mill farm 🤙💪💪

This was a truly monumental effort by the team and a real honour to have the Veteran saddle tank "Sharpthorn" join the party at our 2026 rally 😎🍻🔥🔥🔥🔥

Wonder what next year's guest could be 🤫😉........

😱😱😱Can you believe it's been 2 months since we kicked off the 2026 High Weald Steam Working Weekend!😳

Yep, 2 whole months have passed since that incredible weekend, and we're still buzzing to this day 🤩💪🤙✨️✨️✨️

There's still time to enjoy a few more local country show/Steam rallies so check out online and that Steam fix before the Autumn nights close in 🍂, as before you know it, winter will be here 🤫

The High Weald Steam Working Weekend team and Rural past times have worked together over the past few year's sharing temporary infrastructure and of course steam exhibits 🤠✨️✨️✨️

This event, set on the edge of East Sussex and nestled in the gorgeous hamlet of Horns Cross represents a huge variety of agricultural demonstrations and exhibits from ploughing to wood sawing with steam as well as hundreds of other classic and vintage vehicles 🪚🌳🪵

🎑✨️🇬🇧 Just because the rally's over, doesn't mean the fun stops 😎👌

This clip was taken last month when a few of the High Weald Steam Working Weekend team visited the gorgeous Weald and Downland museum to carry out some heritage farming🤠🇬🇧

Using the incredible "Reaper Binder" behind the 1940s standard N tractor, we can see how post steam engine farming took place💪💪💪

If you ever get the chance to visit the fantastic Weald and Downland museum located in West Sussex, then get a date in the diary and enjoy one of the best open air museums the South has to offer 👌🌟

Unique......🤔🤔🤔

We know how to do unique 😉🤠🔥🔥🔥

The gorgeous 1918 Kemna German gun tractor "Squirrel" joined us for her first ever visit to Freshfield Mill farm at this year's show 💪💪💪

Built for the Imperial German army as a high powered lightweight gun tractor, she served out her military period and ended up as a steam roller.
After being rescued from a scrapyard in Spain and passing through several hands, she has now been in the care of Mike Patterson of Aylesbury who has dedicated over 10 years bringing her back to her former glory including converting her back to a traction engine, reintroducing the superheating elements and supplying new belly tanks amongst a host of other features 😱👌👌👌

It was a pleasure to host the Kemna at this year's High Weald Steam Working Weekend and we truly hope Mike can join us for our 2027 show 😎🇬🇧🇩🇪
