Join us as we celebrate the pioneering inventions of yesteryear with a fully working weekend right in the heart of Sussex🛠🔥🛠🔥🛠

🌳🪓"Timber machinery, from harvesting the tree's, to processing and post products"🌳

That's right, this is not a singular theme, but a whole host of different angles on how timber has transformed life around the world🤠🪵🌲🔥🔥🔥

Timber is one of the most important products to be used throughout the world. It's helped us to build cities, towns and houses along with helping the construction of boats, ships and even aircraft. This versatile material has proven time and again how important it truly is.💪🌳🌳🌳🌳

So.....we would like to take you on a journey, not just how it's processed on the saw bench, but what happens before and after 😉🇬🇧

You can expect👇👇👇

🌲Wood sawing demonstrations

🪵Log loading demonstrations

🌳Live working demonstrations with wood craft

🪓A host of classic and vintage Timber machinery from Matadors to tractors

BUT.........This is just the beginning🤠😉

We don't just want a field full of the usual wood sawing demonstrations (as fantastic as they are), we are after a range of strange, weird and even wacky machinery that has absolutely anything to do with Timber, whether that's pit props or chair legs, to wood lathes and kindling machines🪓🌳🪵🪓🌳🪵

We have a marquee to fill, so no matter how different or unique, we want an exhibit tent full of saws, wood based crafts and vintage machinery, the older the better. What do you have hidden in the back of the shed just crying out to be displayed 🫡💪✨️✨️

Anything from Sussex trugs to planners, or lathes to unique Timber machines, simply drop us a message on Facebook and we'll get back to you😎💪🤝🇬🇧

😍We're teaming up with the Sussex steam engine club😍🔥🔥🔥🔥

We are immensely excited to announce that we'll be teaming up directly with the Sussex steam engine club to ensure a strong and healthy future for road steam in the South East💪🛠🔥

So.......🤔Have you ever "doomscrolled" through Facebook and thought.......love seeing all these steam engine video's and photo's but never really thought about being part of it🤷🤷‍♀️

Well, we have the answer......😉🙌🔥🔥

If you haven't done so already, or your mulling over re-joining the Sussex steam engine club, then grab the bull by the horns and sign on up 🫡🇬🇧✅️

🌟 Monthly steam engine club social meets every second Friday between October and April which includes a special talk on a particular fascinating steam related subject (at a pub of course 🤫🍻)

What a comparison 🤠👌🇬🇧

We've been extremely lucky at High Weald to host such a variety of vintage and heritage machines over the years from steam engines to classic cars 💪🔥🔥🔥🔥

Seen here on the Saturday of our 2026 High Weald Steam Working Weekend, a beautifully turned out Field Marshall tractor passes the veteran Fowler "Mistress" built in.........1873 😱🇬🇧🇬🇧

Sights like these is what our incredible "Play pen" is all about. Seeing so many different types of steam engines, tractors, cars, lorries and even motorcycles, take to the centre stage where the machines do the talking 😎

The Lawson's 8NHP Marshall general purpose traction certainly sets the bar within the steam scene, not just by pure brut, but with their commitment to showing exactly what these incredible machines can do 💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The mighty Mclaren "General French" of 1922 digs in hard against the Sussex hills as she made her way from Ardingly to base with the Bluebell Railway's industrial gem "Sharpthorn" in tow 👌👏🔥🔥🔥🔥

Over the weekend, "General French" alongside a host of other road steam represented our rich industrial heritage over the two days at the Ardingly Autumn game fayre which showcases one of the last countryside events of 2026🤠

It's a true credit to Paul, Dave and the team for exercising the rights steam has on the roads, especially with 30 plus Ton behind them 😍🇬🇧🤙

🔥🇬🇧🚜Some Autumnal events for the diary this coming weekend🚜🇬🇧🔥

We are extremely lucky in the UK to have such a wide variety of not just steam rallies but country fayres, museum open days and ploughing matches 💪🤠

Below are a few events happening locally this weekend in and around the High Weald, giving you the opportunity to enjoy some of the last steam events of 2026 🔥👏👌

Saturday 26th September>>>

Tinkers Park Open day🚂

This cracking little one day event is the final knock-ins of the Tinkers Park calendar which hosts numerous exhibits throughout the day from steam engines to bus rides and classic cars to road making demonstrations. With a fully stocked bar and food on site it's a fantastic way to spend a sunny afternoon. Don't forget your cash!💷

East Sussex 60th Ploughing match 🚜

Ploughing matches have been on going throughout September as a long standing countryside tradition. Many of which take place midweek however this one is on this coming Saturday and its a wonderful way to enjoy those taking part test their ploughing skills. Expect ploughing engines, tractors and a host of exhibits along with great refreshments. 🍻

Sunday 27th September

Sussex steam engine club road run to the Star Inn Waldron🏁

The road run from Tinkers Park to the wonderful Star Inn located in the village of Waldron has traditionally taken place late September since the late 90s. This road run consists of not just steam engines but motorcycles, classic cars and tractors, all of whom manage to park in a very snug village! Great atmosphere, great food and drink along with an outside bar and BBQ supplied by the pub. Best way to spend a Sunday afternoon🥂
