This weekend is your last chance to see the exhibition of beautiful architectural drawings of George Devey, who designed many of the iconic buildings in Benenden. 2.00-4.30 Saturday & Sunday. Also activities for children - including detective quizzes and a hat trail where they can try on hats from different eras. New exhibition opens on Tuesday- watch this space!

Our latest addition at the Museum are the last tiles made at Frittenden brickworks by Charlie Morphett. They have a wonderful story recalled on The Repair Shop Having been spotted by pure chance at a local farm sale by Charlie’s grand-daughters, Dee and Lynn, they were rescued and the crumbled tiles were miraculously repaired by a Repair Shop craftsman. They have now been donated to us by the family so you can see them and appreciate the extraordinary skill which went into their restoration. Tuesdays-Sundays + bank holiday during August. The iconic red hollyhocks at Cranbrook Museum are flowering in time for Sunday’s garden safari. Also fruiting for the first time - our mulberry tree, gifted by Cranbrook in Bloom and the rare Umbrella Pine is pushing out some new growth. Museum open all day, with refreshments available.

A new exhibition for June July & August on the work and legacy of George Devey, Benenden’s significant architect. This has been researched and curated by local resident Hazel Strouts and includes new-to-us material including the architectural drawings. Do pop in and see it over the summer. .cep

Tonight’s meeting of the Cranbrook Museum and Local History Society is the AGM followed by a talk on Shepherds of the South Downs. 7.30 start but doors open at 7pm with refreshments available.

Congratulations to our first recipient in 2026 of a Bronze Award! The Wheels of Time scheme rewards young visitors to heritage and cultural sites across Kent with a badge given at each location visited. 10 sites visited gets a Bronze award.
