Great Scott! Something electrifying is landing at We The Curious tomorrow… ⚡

If you’re visiting us on Friday morning keep an eye out for two time travelling pals roaming the venue… Pop by and say hi, as they figure out just how curious Bristol is.

And when you’re passing Millennium Square you might also notice one stylish vehicle that has travelled back to the future and landed on our Square. 👀

Next Friday evening, we invite you to 'Concert dans la Ville: Bernstein Story', broadcast live from the Auditorium of Bordeaux to our Big Screen on Millennium Square 🎶

This is a free, live outdoor screening of the Opéra National de Bordeaux's opening concert of the 2026 - 2027 season.

Pack a picnic, dust off your camping chairs and be transported to the rhythms of Broadway by one of France's most prestigious orchestras, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine.

The concert will be broadcast at venues across the Bordeaux region and we're delighted to be able to share in celebrating music together as part of Bristol and Bordeaux's twinning partnership.

Timings - 7pm to 8.30pm, Friday 11 September.

Some deckchair seating will be available on a first come, first served basis.

More details on our website.

With thanks to Ville de Bordeaux Opéra National de Bordeaux

Kids imaginations are so vibrant, and they often come up with the wildest things! 🤪

This summer we've been letting our imaginations run free at We The Curious. Come spend the day exploring and creating the weird and the wonderful with us.

Some of team let us know about the things they imagined as a child… Pt.2

But we’d love to hear from you!

What’s the coolest thing you imagined as a child? Or equally, let us know, what are your children are currently using their imagination for? 🤔

A nice little extra treat if you're visiting us on Friday...a special Studio show from our friends . Welcome to the Imaginary Adventure Club!

Our two Adventure Leaders are very, very good at adventures, but when it comes to imagination, they need YOUR help!

Sit back and enjoy a fully improvised theatre show by these two intrepid souls, taking suggestions from the audience’s young adventurers to decide where they go, how they get there, how they get out of trouble - and how they get back!

Directed by: Kierann Shah

There are two shows, one at 12pm and one at 3pm - taking place in our Studio, and included in your day ticket. Capacity for each show is limited so get there early to get a seat.

Our members enjoy limitless curiosity. If you sign up, you'll get this brand new Curiosity Kit plus the ability to return, repeat and replay. 🧐

So many things can ignite our imagination - a shooting star, watching your kids invent new games, hearing a bird sing. 🌠

We caught up with our team to discover what sparks their imagination, PT2. 🤩

Let us know in the comments – what sparks YOUR imagination on the daily?

Looking for a holiday activity that's both delicious and educational? Yes, please!

Not all experiments belong in a lab. Watch ingredients transform before your eyes as we use science to make instant fruit sorbet and create mayonnaise from scratch. Come and explore the science behind your favourite summer foods in our Summer Kitchen running three times a day, check activity board on arrival.

All drop-in activities are included in your day ticket. Visit before the end of summer to take advantage of our Great British Summer Savings.

Science can sometimes seem to be full of ideas straight out of science-fiction, inventions that we figure will only come to life in the far-far future, but right now somewhere in Bristol, there are people thinking about smart watches that smell or the possibility of growing chairs like plants... 👃 🌱

Come get a special sneak peek into unique research projects in our Test Lab - bio-engineering, quantum computing and multi-sensory design are waiting for you to have a play!

🔬 Tues 18 Aug: Bio-engineering future furniture

What if you could plant a seed and grow a chair? Explore and share your thoughts on the future of objects living, non-living and somewhere in between.

💻 Tues 25 Aug: Quantum computing

What exactly is quantum entanglement and what does it have to do with computers? How could the invisible world of quantum phenomena change our lives in future?

🙉 Fri 28 Aug: Multisensory design challenge

Discover how touch, smell, taste, and other underused senses can inspire more creative, engaging, and accessible ways to interact with technology.

These activities are drop-in and included in your day ticket.

These sessions are pilots for future activities and by having a play, you’ll be helping shape our future programmes in the Open City Lab as well as research directions.
