🎭 Two fantastic autumn productions are on the way from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Third-year acting students will take to the stage in Romeo & Juliet at To***co Factory Theatres, directed by former Royal Shakespeare Company artistic director Gregory Doran – a great opportunity for young people studying the play at GCSE.

Then in November, Eloise comes to The Redgrave Theatre with a fast-paced, magical adventure billed as a family-friendly alternative to the traditional Christmas show.

🐴🌿 From chopping wood and caring for animals to horse therapy and renovating a beehive, students from Lift Broadlands certainly got stuck into life on the farm!

Ten Year 7 and 8 students spent four days at Jamie's Farm near Bath, taking on new challenges, working as a team and building confidence along the way.

It was the school’s third residential with Jamie’s Farm in the past two years.

🔥 REVIEW: Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man at Bristol Hippodrome

Sexy, funny, dark, violent and completely engrossing, The Car Man is Matthew Bourne at his brilliant best.

Forget traditional ballet – this is trainers, jeans, shower scenes, passion, murder and breathtaking choreography, all wrapped around a story loosely inspired by Bizet’s Carmen.

We absolutely loved it.

⭐ ‘Seriously perfect entertainment.’

Recommended for ages 15+.

🚢 We stepped aboard Titanic for a very different family day out in Bristol!

Titanic: A Voyage Through Time uses virtual reality to take visitors from the wreck on the Atlantic seabed back to 1912, where you can explore the ship, meet passengers and crew and even have a go at shovelling coal in the boiler room.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, but we also found it genuinely fascinating and surprisingly moving.

🏗️ Could you help build a pier in a day?

A giant cardboard version of Birnbeck Pier is coming to Weston-super-Mare this September – and families and residents are invited to help create it.

There will be free workshops at the Sovereign before the huge community build in Prince Consort Gardens on Saturday 26 September. Then, the following day, everyone can help topple it before the cardboard is recycled!
