This Spring Helm presents ‘In bloom’ - a group show exploring floral imagery and it’s position as one of the most prominent motifs throughout art history.

Flowers have been a constant source of inspiration and reference for some of the most impactful artists across culture; from Van Gogh’s sunflowers and Warhol’s screen-prints up to the hyperrealism of CJ Hendry and Takashi Murakami’s superflat compositions; their fragility and objective beauty make them an alluring subject for creatives from all walks of life.

Featuring works from over 10 different artists and spanning a variety of mediums, this diverse exhibition of prints and original works will showcase the versatility and power of nature and its potential as a continued vessel for inspiration whether dramatic, playful or surreal.

As always, Helm is committed to presenting art in a way that feels accessible, engaging, and immersive. This exhibition is free to attend.

THE DRAWING ROOM IS BACK!

At Helm, we want as many people as possible to engage with art - so this April, from the 15th - 20th, the Drawing Room is back. We’re inviting you once again to come and draw on the walls! The exhibition hall will be carefully wrapped, ready for you to add the artwork yourselves, so you’ll just need to grab a pen and get creating.

Over just six days The Drawing Room will be open to the public to come and create, together. You’ll be encouraged to draw, scribble and colour the walls to fill the space and exercise your creativity.

While we welcome those with small children, this event is not just for the little ones. It’s an experience that the whole family can enjoy. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just a doodler, we’re open to everyone.

Why not try something new, or practice your skills - making art is shown to lower stress levels and help mental wellbeing. Plus, there’s no judgement here, we can’t wait to see what you create. So come and get involved!

There’s no need to book ahead, simply drop in while you can and stay as long as you want.

NEW ARTIST -

​​We are thrilled to be working with Ryan Callanan, aka RYCA. Working across various mediums he is a master repackaging modern-day references using traditional techniques. From traditional pub-style signwriting to sculpture, resin works and prints he brings a unique flair to familiar imagery.

Some of RYCA’s most recognisable works include his giant 3D resin-cast smiley faces, busts of hip-hop icons and acid-house themed skate decks. He has frequently collaborated with Fatboy slim and worked with iconic artists such as Stik and PEZ.

TAKE THE STREETS

This spring, we are proud to present RARE - a curated exhibition showcasing an extraordinary collection of rare and sought-after works from some of the most influential artists of our time.

Featuring pieces by the likes of Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Harland Miller, and more, ‘RARE’ brings together a diverse selection of artworks that challenge, provoke, and captivate. We are very excited to be working with - a contemporary British artist working primarily in collage, photography and print. Crossing medium and type, Bonnie and Clyde’s work takes the form of mixed media originals on paper, wood and canvas as well as 3D pieces and limited edition screen-prints.

AROE: From Then On - NOW OPEN

We are proud to announce that our latest exhibition with Brighton graffiti legend AROE, is now open.

Over a thousand artworks are now live, each at just £100.

Taking place until the 2nd March, ‘From Then On’ represents a first for AROE - a visual retrospective of his artistic legacy, segmented across unique, hand-painted original canvases.

Cataloguing his stylistic evolution, you’ll find all of his signature imagery spread across our exhibition hall, creating a singular, fragmented mural showcasing his decades of lived experience at the forefront of counter-culture.
