Artist Spotlight ✨ Dan Baldwin ⁣

Dan Baldwin’s work is known for its rich symbolism and emotional depth — blending abstract and figurative elements to explore themes of life, death, transformation, and memory. ⁣

His distinctive visual language often contrasts delicate motifs like flowers and birds with more unsettling elements such as skulls and weaponry, creating tension that invites closer inspection.⁣

Colour plays a central role in Baldwin’s practice. Every composition begins with instinctive experimentation — unexpected combinations of pastels and vivid hues are layered to build atmosphere, rhythm and emotional resonance.⁣

Gillian Duke, Managing Director of has described him as an artist who approaches ‘painting like a printmaker’ – a reference to his bold use of colour and his methodical layering that mirrors traditional printmaking techniques. ⁣

🌍 Earth Day 🌍 ⁣

Celebrated on 22nd April, Earth Day is a global moment to reflect on our relationship with the planet, and the ways we each shape the world around us.⁣

To mark the occasion, we’re spotlighting ‘Eye of History’ by Marc Quinn – a powerful series of etchings that overlays the unique patterns of the human eye with maps of different regions of the world.⁣

Quinn describes eyes as, “The doors of perception, the portal between inner and outer, and the link between us and the world.” ⁣

Each work invites us to reflect on our individuality, our collective responsibility, and how we choose to see the world.⁣

Working across sculpture, painting, and drawing, Quinn blends traditional and cutting-edge techniques to tackle big questions about identity, humanity, and the natural world. His practice is known for combining emotional depth with scientific and philosophical inquiry - from his self-portrait sculpted from frozen blood, to his sculpture of a pregnant which sat on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square.⁣

🖼 Eye of History is available as a set of 8 prints or individually at Enter Gallery⁣

Eggs in art🥚⁣

So how do you like your eggs? Surreal? Symbolic? Or cast in bronze? ⁣

This Easter, we’re swapping chocolate for creativity and spotlighting some artists who cracked the code on one of art history’s most enduring symbols…⁣

🥚 Sarah Lucas - Uses fried eggs to confront ideas of femininity and objectification ⁣

🥚 Jeff Koons elevates the egg to a hyper-polished, monumental sculpture. Reflective and pristine, it plays with themes of fragility, luxury, and desire.⁣

🥚 Andy Warhol’s interpretations of eggs explored themes of repetition and domesticity. Flattened against vibrant backgrounds, his eggs become graphic icons of pop culture.⁣

🥚 In his surrealist masterpiece ‘Elective Affinities’, Rene Magritte depicts a giant egg inside a birdcage. It’s a quiet paradox evoking both entrapment and infinite potential.⁣

🥚 The legendary Fabergé Eggs were handcrafted treasures for Russian royalty. Lavish and intricate, they became timeless symbols of luxury, secrecy, and surprise.⁣

🥚 In ‘Found Art: Eggs’, Peter Blake uses an assemblage of found eggs to celebrate their simplicity, nostalgia and symbolic mystery.⁣

🥚 Salvador Dalí frequently painted eggs in dreamlike landscapes. In ‘Eggs on the Plate Without the Plate’ the melting composition is classic Dalí – playful and oddly profound.⁣

🥚 Gavin Turk’s egg sculptures explore identity, authorship and the lifecycle of objects. ‘Oeuvre (Verdigris)’ turns the egg into a heavy, monumental form – challenging the idea of fragility while reflecting on legacy and permanence.⁣

Can you think of any good eggy artworks we have missed? Let us know in the comments 👇 ⁣

‘Rebirth’ by Dan Baldwin⁣ 🥚

As part of this year’s Big Egg Hunt for elephantfamily Enter Gallery artist, Dan Baldwin has created a powerful one-off sculpture that forms part of a city-wide trail of giant decorated eggs across London – a free, public celebration of creativity that also raises awareness and funds for conservation.⁣

Painted in one of his signature colour combinations of baby blue, baby pink, white and black, Dan’s egg titled, ‘Rebirth’ began as a series of sketches in his studio before coming to life as a 3D artwork.⁣

The egg as a symbol of rebirth aligns with the ideas and symbolism that consistently guide Dan’s work. Known for his ‘psychological landscapes’ and the use of contrasting motifs like skulls, swallows, flowers and crucifixes, his art explores themes of life, death, innocence, transformation and renewal.⁣

You can spot the final egg in situ across London now as part of this free-to-view art trail running until 27th April.⁣

We’re big fans of public art trails like this – they give more people the chance to experience art up close, while supporting a great cause 🩵 ⁣

Don’t Worry Darling has dropped on Netflix… but did you spot the house? 👀⁣

Designed in 1946 by architect Richard Neutra, the Kaufmann House is considered one of the most important examples of mid-century modern residential architecture. With its clean lines, open layout, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow, it was made for the camera... 📸 ⁣

It was famously photographed by Slim Aarons in his legendary 1970s image, ‘Poolside Gossip’. ⁣

From Aarons’ lens to the big screen, this house is a star in it’s own right and a true design icon ✨⁣

How a Slim Aarons photograph changed everything…⁣

Before she was Enter Gallery’s go-to art consultant, Madi worked at Artist Residence in Brighton – working next to Poolside Gossip by Slim Aarons every day ☀️ ⁣

“I’d walk past it and something about its effortless elegance and storytelling stuck with me… Being surrounded by art in that space made me realise how much it can shape an atmosphere, spark conversations, and create desire.”⁣

That moment sparked her path into art consultancy – and she’s been helping people find the right piece ever since.⁣

“If I could own any artwork in the world, it would be ‘My Bed’ by Tracey Emin… 🛏️ ⁣

It’s so raw and honest - it invites a deep, emotional response and opens up conversations about vulnerability, emotion, and the everyday human experience.” ⁣

💬 Madi, Art Consultant at ⁣

This iconic piece, sits at the heart of what makes Tracey Emin one of the most powerful voices in contemporary art. This time next year it will be on display at as part of a major 40-year retrospective of Emin’s most career-defining works and never-seen-before pieces.⁣

Emin has always blurred the line between the deeply personal and the boldly public – using her own life as material and the female body as a vessel for storytelling, trauma, and healing.⁣

We know Madi will be first in line for this retrospective! Will you be visiting this Tate exhibition? Let us know in the comments 👇 ⁣

‘The Purification of Our Lady, Matka Bozia’⁣

Depicting the Mother of God holding a pomegranate, the work draws on powerful symbols of fertility, creation, and divine femininity. ⁣

The pomegranate has been long associated with motherhood and abundance and adds depth to this striking, contemporary portrayal of the maternal figure ♥️ ⁣

NEW RELEASE from Bruce McLean

Officially launched at the London Original Print Fair last week, this set of four new silkscreen prints by Bruce McLean is now available exclusively at entergallery.com

Titled, 'Vase of Arranged Flowers in a Wild Garden', the series has been published by CCA Galleries in four bold colourways, each with hand-painted embellishments that make every print unique.

This body of work continues McLean’s exploration of structured still life, using ceramic objects he’s created, and inviting the viewer to experience the subject across print, paint, and sculpture.

“I don’t know what I’m doing half the time I’m doing it until I do it. Then I find out what it’s about... I thought it would be quite interesting to put [the ceramics] in a landscape. Whether that makes any sense or not I don’t know; I think they look quite good.”

After visiting Madi was quite taken by this Jersey-based artist who is now exhibiting her first print releases at London Original Print Fair this week. ⁣

Asked about the subject of her work Kay says… “May head is always full of stuff, images just appear and I have to draw them”. ⁣

These vibrant works are often accompanied by quirky titles that can be witty, silly, naughty, thoughtful or edgy, sometimes referring to contemporary politics, histories of art, everyday occurrences or the people and animals that share Kay’s life.⁣

She cites Instagram as her biggest source of inspiration! ⁣
