“I am an outsider artist living in Brighton.
Working in a variety of mediums including painting (mischtechnik mostly), collage, drawing, puppetry, poetry, performance and sound.

My recent work is an exploration of the journey I have been through of intense grief since the death of my 17 year old son.

Plant Spirits and allies have been my foremost help in traversing this dark and difficult territory. Most of my work features them prominently and is an ongoing conversation with them.”

Scarlet has generously requested that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this painting be donated to the National Society of Su***de Prevention.

Su***de prevention is a collective responsibility that concerns us all. The National Su***de Prevention Alliance unites individuals and organisations dedicated to su***de prevention.
Their members work together to take meaningful action to prevent su***de and provide support to those affected by su***de.

Liberation Art Gallery is seeking passionate practising artists and makers to join us in the day to day running of the gallery. Liberation Art Gallery is a grass roots, arts for health, trauma informed multi-level art space and the first of its kind in the United Kingdom.

The gallery offers a unique and immersive experience for art enthusiasts. Situated across three floors, the gallery showcases a diverse range of exhibitions and workshops and includes a Therapy space used by a team of qualified and registered Art Psychotherapists.

We are looking for artists to commit to stewarding the gallery for a minimum of half a day each week. In return we can offer you an all year round exhibition space within our beautiful Grade ll listed Brighton art gallery. Gallery representation is also included in our online platforms. As well as being part of a vibrant and wonderful team of creatives, including exhibiting Artists, creative workshop hosts and Arts psychotherapists.

This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your artwork in a retail art gallery environment, as well as participate in our quarterly exhibitions whilst forming new connections with other art enthusiasts, both collectors and creators alike.

As an Artist steward, you will play an essential role in welcoming visitors, engaging with customers, assisting in the sale of art works whilst also sharing your works and artistic journey.

Ideally we are looking for individuals with a body of art work, as well as social media, marketing and retail experience to help promote the work of our artists and strengthen our community connections. However no formal experience or skills are necessary.

If you’re excited about being part of our vibrant artistic team and environment, and would like an all year round exhibition space to showcase your artwork we’d love to hear from you! Let’s create, inspire, and grow together!

Leigh-Anna is an accomplished multi-media artist, and a resident artist here at Liberation Art Gallery, Brighton.

Leigh-Anna’s work has evolved to reflect her own journey, and which encompasses the key themes of “Remembrance, Enlightenment and Celebration”. Her pieces span the centuries and give new purpose to objects which would otherwise have been discarded and forgotten.

“Being creative is as important as breathing for me. It allows me to process my thoughts, feelings, relax, focus and dream.
Finding my ‘home’ in assemblage art has allowed my creative process to be completely unhindered. My art is like creating my own 3D jigsaw puzzle therefore not only does it help my wellbeing by relaxing but also provides challenges to overcome which is immensely satisfying!”

Children’s half term painting workshop! 🖌️🎨

Let your child explore their creativity at our Children’s Painting Workshop this half term!
This fun and interactive session is perfect for young children eager to explore the world of colour, brushwork and self-expression.

Children will learn various painting techniques, experiment with different painting tools and collaborate with eachother to create a masterpiece.

Courtney, an experienced artist, workshop leader and with a background in childcare, is DBS-checked and ready to guide the session.

Please Note:
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Siblings are welcome! However, all participating children will need their own ticket.
This workshop will proceed based on sufficient sign-ups. Refunds will be issued if the session is cancelled. Don’t miss this chance to create something amazing together-reserve your spot now!
