A reminder to our members that our AGM takes place next Tuesday at the BMI.
Tea and coffee will be available from 10.15am and this is a lovely opportunity to socialise and catch up with fellow members and trustees. Following the AGM there is a talk from Jane-Thompson-Webb on ‘Bugs, Boxes and Spreadsheets’, focusing on the conservation work that goes on in Birmingham Museums. Jane is the Conservation manager for BMT and this will be a fascinating insight into her work. Both events are free to FBMAG members, but please let us know whether you are attending for catering purposes. You can email us at [email protected]
Please note that this is a members-only event.
If you are attending the AGM, please be aware that Broad Street will be closed due to the Conservative Party Conference being on next week, so please allow extra time for your journey as buses will be rerouted. Please see the information below:
The Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham will result in road closures on Broad Street from October 4th to October 8th, 2026. During this period, the following bus services will be diverted: Routes 9, 12, 13, 23, 24, 822, 829, X8, and X10 will be diverted from the start of service on October 4th until approximately 12:30pm on October 8th.
Tram services will continue to run between Wolverhampton and Edgbaston Village during this time. Rail services are unlikely to be significantly affected by the conference.
Passengers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as public transport may take longer than usual due to route diversions and disruption. For more information on bus diversion routes, please visit the National Express' Conservative Party Conference webpage
