Become a dinosaur detective at our Dino Dig experience.

Step into the Thinktank Science Garden and travel millions of years back in time to discover the secrets hidden in the fossil record.

Create your own dinosaur fossil rubbings using footprints and fossil clues, and find out how scientists use evidence left behind by dinosaurs to learn more about these incredible creatures.

Get hands-on with our fossil handling collection, before having a go at digging for fossils in our sand pit. What will you uncover?

Dino Dig is a chance to discover palaeontology through creative activities, investigation and play.

When? Monday to Friday and selected weekend dates during the summer holidays.

Available until 28 August.

Drop-in sessions: 11am - 12pm and 2pm - 3pm

Join us at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum tomorrow (Thursday 30 July) to make your own fizzy exploding dinosaur fossil and discover how real fossils are formed in this fun, hands-on workshop.

Professors Egg'n'Egg are returning to Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum on 12 August, from 10.30am - 4.30pm, bringing plenty of prehistoric laughs and family fun.

If you're looking for things to do with the kids in Birmingham, summer holiday activities, or a family day out in the West Midlands, Thinktank is packed with hands-on science, interactive exhibits, MiniBrum, the Science Garden and a whole summer of dinosaur-themed activities.

Britain's Got Talent star and viral Birmingham artist Tat Vision is coming to Thinktank!

Fresh from his unforgettable appearance on Britain's Got Talent, where he wowed audiences with his wonderfully weird papier-mâché creations, and best known for his viral Four Lads in Jeans statue outside Birmingham New Street, Tat Vision is bringing his unique creativity to Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum.

Join Tat Vision on Wednesday 22 July for a fun, dinosaur-themed junk modelling workshop where children and families can transform recycled materials into incredible prehistoric creations. Whether you build a towering T. rex, a spiky Stegosaurus or invent your own dinosaur, it's the perfect way to get creative this summer.

Make your visit to Thinktank even more memorable by adding a Planetarium show. Whether you're travelling to the edge of the Solar System, discovering the secrets of the night sky or joining Alan the hamster on a space adventure, there's a show for all ages this summer.

3-2-1 Liftoff! (30 mins | Ideal for young families)

Join Alan, a hamster scientist, on an animated adventure as he helps a stranded robot return to its spaceship before it leaves Earth's orbit.
