💜 Calling crocheters and crochet groups 💜

We are building a list of makers to support an ambitious community project: creating 10,000 purple roses for one powerful yarnbomb installation.

The full project will be shared soon, along with a free crochet pattern and information about how to take part. For now, we would love to hear from:

🧶 individual crocheters
🧶 established crochet and craft groups
🧶 experienced makers who could help beginners

If you, or a group you belong to, would be interested in supporting the project, please comment below or send us a DM. If you are responding as a group, please include its name and main contact.

There is no commitment at this stage. We are gathering expressions of interest and beginning to connect the people who would like to help.

The Purple Roses pattern has been put to the test!

Members of Art With A Heart Crochet & Chat group have been busy stress-testing the pattern - using the written instructions, trying different hook sizes and sharing their roses and feedback

Different makers, different hooks, different roses - exactly as it should be.

Every individual purple rose will count towards our 10,000

This is the first of the participation resources being developed by Art with a Heart to help communities across Trafford take part in Purple Roses Against Violence.

The tested pattern is ready to share next week. 💜🌹

Today we met with Cllr Jo Harding and Nicola Walton to begin planning Purple Roses Against Violence

We are bringing Trafford together to create 10,000 purple roses supporting the borough’s work to end Violence Against Women and Girls

Every rose can help start a conversation. 💜
