Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport It’s open daily from 8am except Christmas and Boxing Day.

A great day out for all the family, the Runway Visitor Park is one of the North West's most popular outdoor attractions. Adjacent to the busy runways of Manchester Airport, the park’s raised viewing areas mean you can stand literally just a few metres away from real ‘live’ planes as they go past, with around 600 aircraft movements – landings and take-offs – every day. The park is also home to a va
riety of retired planes, including the spectacular supersonic airliner, Concorde G-BOAC; and former RAF military spy plane, Ni**od. There’s also a DC-10, Avro RJX and a retro Trident airliner, offering a glimpse of what flying was like in the 1960s and 1970s. In addition to a picnic area, there is also the Concorde Restaurant and coffee house, a play area and The Aviation Shop, which stocks a range of plane-related souvenirs, suitable for children through to the more serious aircraft enthusiasts. Visitors hoping to see the Emirates A380 super-jumbo on its daily visit to Manchester can watch it arrive at around 11:45am* and depart at around 1.30pm* (*scheduled times, subject to change). The Runway Visitor Park is located next to Manchester Airport’s runways, two minutes from Junction 6 of the M56 motorway.

The Runway Visitor Park is open as Normal over the Easter Weekend. Then on Monday our hours extend and the park will be open till 6pm.

It was lovely to have 230th Sheffield Air Scouts come to visit us and so good to hear they had a great time and very much enjoyed the tour !

We have spaces still available for flight academy through the Easter Holidays, set onboard our DC10 Aircraft, children taking part in this session will learn about the different job roles that help ensure that Manchester Airport runs smoothly, they will get to visit the flight Deck and have a look outside to see Manchesters runways in action,

This Easter, the Runway Visitor Park will be hosting a 'Breakfast with the Easter Bunny' 🐰
This exciting event includes breakfast underneath the Concorde wings, followed by a tour onboard the iconic aircraft. Children will then be invited to help the Easter Bunny design a Concorde-inspired Easter egg. All children participating will receive a chocolate Easter egg and a certificate. 🐣

The TAS Aviation memorabilia fair is once again taking place This Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February 2024
*The hangar is open to the public at 10am til 3pm both days *
Short tours of Concorde will be running throughout the day, please pre book at reception.
Entry to the Hangar is free no pre booking is required.
Normal car parking charges apply.

Each weekend the A380 still attracts a great crowd to the runway visitor park,
The first scheduled service to Manchester was back in 2010, 1st September. You can see this amazing aircraft landing here daily at 11:15am and taking off at 13:10,
