Earth | Tree Sessions 🌳

Three nights of music inside Earth | Tree by Kengo Kuma / KKAA.

The installation is inspired by komorebi, the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through leaves. Entering it feels like stepping beneath a tree canopy in the middle of a former industrial warehouse. Wood, brick, sand and light come together to create a space made for the senses.

For three nights, music becomes part of that experience. From Polish/Danish underground sounds and Europop chaos to ambient sound healing and West African/Scandinavian acoustic music.

POV: It’s Autumn Break at CC 🍂

Fold origami inside Kengo Kuma’s Earth | Tree, create your own landscape in the workshop, or immerse yourself in drawing in the CContemplation Zone.
We invite you to celebrate autumn break at CC. There’s plenty of activities for the entire family, all week long.

You can:
🦢 Fold origami in Earth | Tree
🪡 Get creative with red beads and copper wire
🏔️ Build landscapes using clay, paper, cardboard and yarn
🎧 Listen and draw in the CContemplation Zone (each Sunday in October)
🟠 Join the Children’s Circle every day of the week!

But that’s not all. Our other exhibitions are open to explore as well. Step into a burst of color in James Turrell’s Aftershock, pick up a phone and listen to dilemmas in Camille Henrot’s Paper Planes, and check out Fire & Ice, giving the floor to eight artists with ties to Greenland, offering their individual perspectives on identity and belonging.

The FIRE & ICE catalogue is here.

We’re proud to announce the arrival of the Fire & Ice catalogue.

Spanning 216 pages, the catalogue makes a new major contribution to bringing attention to contemporary Greenlandic art. It features photos, critical texts and interviews with artists behind the Fire & Ice exhibition, with all texts translated in both English and Kalaallisut (Greenlandic).

Komorebi (n.): the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through leaves.

Earth | Tree is designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates () with lead architect Yuki Ikeguchi. The installation brings the quiet essence of Japanese forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) indoors.

Sand, brick and raw pine blocks that fill the room with their natural scent. An experience meant to be felt with all the senses.

“You could say that my name was homesick.”

Inuuteq Storch’s (Inuuteq Storch) photographs explore identity, Inuit culture and colonial history through scenes from everyday life in Kalaallit Nunaat / Greenland.

For Soon Will Summer Be Over (2023), Storch travelled to Qaanaaq, a place he had long wanted to visit because his name comes from there. In 1953, 27 Kalaallit families were forced to move to Qaanaaq to make way for the US military base at Thule.

Today, Qaanaaq is one of the northernmost towns in the world, with a strong hunting culture. Summer lasts only a few weeks, and the sun barely sets.

Storch captures this short summer through six photographs of people, homes and the landscape, where Inuit culture and traces of colonial history exist side by side.

Inuuteq Storch (b. 1989) was born and raised in Sisimiut, Kalaallit Nunaat. He represented Denmark at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024 as the youngest and first Kalaaleq artist to do so.
