BERLIN DEBUT | ANTONIA WRIGHT × FRANZISKA KLOTZ

For Berlin Art Week 2026, 68projects by KORNFELD is delighted to present Stay, bringing together new paintings by Berlin-based gallery artist Franziska Klotz and video works by Cuban-American artist Antonia Wright - marking Wright’s first presentation in Berlin.

Stay unfolds as a dialogue between two artists whose practices examine structures of power, vulnerability and resistance through very different media. While Klotz constructs charged pictorial spaces in which social orders begin to fracture, Wright turns the gaze onto her own body, making it both medium and measure of her confrontation with systems of power.

Among Wright’s works presented in Berlin is “And so with ends comes beginnings (2019–2020)”. Filmed while the artist was nine months pregnant and responding to flooding along the Miami River, the work intertwines motherhood, rising sea levels and an uncertain future. The video was acquired by the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, where it is currently on view as part of Defining Landscapes.

Together, Klotz and Wright ask what happens when familiar structures begin to lose their stability - and what it might mean to remain, endure, or ultimately step outside them.

Mayara Ferrão

Brazilian artist Mayara Ferrão moves between photography, painting, video and new technologies, creating powerful narratives around Black, Indigenous and dissident bodies.

Her work has been shown internationally, including at Les Rencontres d’Arles and MASP, and recently entered the permanent collections of MASP and MAMAM.

Created during her residency in Berlin, Ale España works explore the city through delicate layers of hand-dyed paper, translucent colour, and overlapping fragments. Moving between landscape and abstraction, traces of architecture and memory are transformed into compositions that feel at once fragile, fluid, and constantly in motion.

Heitor dos Prazeres. Life, painted in rhythm.

Painter, composer, and one of the pioneering figures of Brazilian modernism, Heitor Dos Prazeres (1898 - 1966) transformed scenes of everyday life into vibrant visual narratives filled with rhythm, movement, and community.

His paintings celebrate ordinary moments with extraordinary vitality, where music, dance, work, and celebration become enduring records of Brazilian cultural life. Deeply rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions, his work remains one of the most authentic visual testimonies of twentieth-century Brazil.

Earlier this year, 68projects by KORNFELD presented the first-ever exhibition of Heitor dos Prazeres in Germany. We are delighted to continue introducing his remarkable oeuvre through a curated selection of works now available.
