After five weeks away from Instagram, KORNFELD is finally back - and we couldn’t think of a better way to return than with an invitation from Rusudan Khizanishvili herself.
Tomorrow, Sat, 22 August at 12 noon, we invite you to join us at KORNFELD Galerie for the Finissage & Artist Talk of DOUBLE EXPOSURE with in conversation with curator .wolf
This conversation has a very personal background.
Asja travelled to Georgia to visit Rusudan, encountering not only the artist in her studio and gaining an intimate view into her working process, but also experiencing the cultural environment, history and visual world from which her paintings emerge.
Tomorrow, they will bring that dialogue to Berlin.
Together they will speak about Rusudan’s powerful pictorial universe - about identity and transformation, memory and mythology, femininity and strength, Georgia and the post-Soviet experience - and about how personal and collective histories find their way into her paintings.
