Through this sanguine drawing, Gisèle Bonin explores the body through fragments. The intertwined figures evoke a sense of closeness and fragility, while leaving space for what remains unspoken.

What can a fragment reveal?

In her own words, Gisèle Bonin shares the story behind “Fragiles”, an exhibition that marks the first time her drawings are presented within the context of her long-standing involvement with asylum seekers.

For years, Gisèle has drawn anonymous fragments of bodies, leaving space for each viewer to bring their own meaning to them. With “Fragiles”, these fragments enter into dialogue with questions of exile, refuge, identity and the lives that often remain unseen behind the images we are shown.

In this video, Gisèle shares more about her work and what led her to create this exhibition.
