This past weekend at musée du quai Branly in Paris, visual artist Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas ( Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas ) brought his art to life in a captivating live drawing concert alongside Dutch cellist Ernst Reijseger.

As Michael drew in real time and shared stories and insights about his work, Reijseger responded through music, creating an extraordinary dialogue between image and sound. Line by line, note by note, the performance unfolded as an improvised exchange between two artists, each responding to the other in the moment.

A beautiful meeting of visual storytelling and musical expression, where drawing became performance, music became conversation, and art emerged in the space between them.

Sara Genn’s ( Sara Genn ) first solo institutional exhibition “How to Build a Sky” opens next Friday, October 16th at Site Santa Fe, New Mexico ( SITE SANTA FE ), curated by Louis Grachos.

Here is a sneak peek at the exhibition (images 1 - 3,
📸 by Brad Trone). In addition to her tiered, multi- panel constructions, Sara was commissioned to paint a courtyard installation in the Wallerstein Family Terrace ( images 4 - 5, 📸 by SITE SANTA FE ).

• Exhibition Opening - Friday, October 16th, 5 - 8pm, free to attend.

Brendan Tang’s ( Brendan Tang ) work “Manga Ormolu Version 2.0r” is currently on view at the Gordon Smith Gallery ( Gordon and Marion Smith Foundation ) as part of their exhibition “Collect, Assemble, Gather”. The exhibition explores acts of collecting as both artistic process and everyday ritual. From the gathering of people in shared spaces to the sorting of materials such seeds, stones, and fabric scraps, the exhibition presents work about assembling meaning, sustenance, and connection through creative and communal acts. - Gordon Smith Gallery.

Gallery Jones is very pleased to announce the representation of painter Rubeena Ratcliffe ( Rubeena Ratcliffe ).

Ratcliffe is a Canadian contemporary artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her paintings explore the intersection of memory, place, and abstraction, creating atmospheric compositions that balance structure with intuition. Drawing on a background in architecture, she builds layered surfaces where fragments of landscape, architecture, and lived experience emerge, inviting viewers to find their own narratives within the work.

Ratcliffe holds a Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University, and her understanding of space, rhythm, and composition continues to influence her practice. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across Canada and the United States and is held in private collections internationally. She lives and works between Vancouver and Bowen Island, British Columbia.
