Beeswax Candle Making Workshop - October 24 @ 2 PM
Cyanotype Photography Workshop - November 7 @ 2 PM
Winter's Quiet: Holiday Card Workshop with Poetry and Printmaking - November 18 & 25 (2 session workshop) @ 6 PM
Slow Stitch Journal Workshop - November 26 @ 6:30 PM

All workshops are led by local artists and professionals.

💜 Meet Amy! One of our wonderful Museum volunteers! 💜

For TEN!! years Amy has been faithfully coming to the Stratford Perth Museum every week to help with the dusting. And let us tell you, keeping a museum of our size dust-free is no small feat! From our exhibit spaces to our precious artifact cases, Amy helps us take great care of the collections and spaces we share with our community.

She’s become such an important part of our Museum family that whenever she’s away, we really notice her absence. We miss her, and the museum is so much better off for her presence.

Now, Amy happens to LOVE pink and purple, so when our new hoodies arrived, she had her eye on one right away. We couldn’t think of a more deserving person to receive one as a little thank-you for a decade of dedication.

And doesn’t she look marvellous? 💜

A huge thank-you to Amy for everything you do, and to Community Living, Stratford and Area for helping make this wonderful volunteer partnership possible.

Meet Jodi...Our Beeswax Candle Making Workshop Leader on October 24, 2 PM at the Stratford Perth Museum.
Jodi Roth, owner of Huckleberry Hives, claims...
"Bees are my business! I keep honey bees and produce raw honey, specialty flavoured honeys, and beeswax candles, which I sell at markets, online and right on location at my main apiary site. I do a small amount of bee breeding and queen rearing and occasionally sell bees outside of my operation, but that side of my business has downsized over the previous 2 years. My customers are discerning locals looking for quality honey and candles."

At the workshop you will make 5 of your own different styles of Beeswax Candles to take home for family or friends. The workshop will cover the basics of beeswax properties, handling tips, and wick sizing information.

Each attendee will make a set of the following candles to take home:
One owl beeswax candle (poured into silicone mould)
One votive beeswax candle (poured into metal mould)
One miscellaneous small candle (various silicone moulds, participants will choose which one to use)
A set of birthday or meditation candles (dipped candles, number of candles varying based on what the person wants to make)
One rolled beeswax candle

Heading into a weekend when gratitude is on our minds, here’s someone we’re especially thankful for! ❤️

The amazing Mary Adair of Phelans Place Appliances in Sebringville, Perth South, has come to the Museum’s rescue more than once- from helping outfit our beautiful historic kitchen with an evocative vintage -style fridge to providing a much-needed dishwasher back in 2024 as our events grew.

Most recently, Mary pulled another rabbit out of her hat, donating an ice fridge for our bar shed ahead of Rock The Muse: Rockin’ Our Roots! Her generosity saves the Museum money, time and valuable volunteer effort- and helps keep the good times rolling.

Pictured outside the shop with Museum Director Kelly McIntosh, Mary is a wonderful example of community generosity in action.

Look who stopped in to claim their prizes? Our Rural Routes Car Tour winners, Maggie and Roger Shires, and runners-up, David and Linda Ross. What a great reminder of the terrific day of community and history we recently enjoyed together out on the open road.

A special thank you to the Stratford Festival for providing our first prize, and to our great friends at Jobsite Brewery for providing our second prize.

Buzz on over to the Stratford Perth Museum and make 5 of your own different styles of Beeswax Candles to take home for family or friends at our Busy Hands Workshop on Saturday, October 24, from 2:00 - 4:30 PM.

Beep beep! We had a terrific Sunday with the Rotary Club of Stratford for the 2026 Rural Routes Car Tour, raising funds for both the Rotary Club and the Stratford Perth Museum. This wonderful nine-year tradition honours David Blackburn, a dedicated Rotarian, and celebrates the history of our region. Congratulations to Maggie and Roger Shires, whose combined quiz and timing scores earned them the top prize! Even the Perth County sky was wearing orange this morning… In honour of Orange Shirt Day, the Stratford Perth Museum has free admission until 4:00 pm today and the opportunity to see the Tipi of Huron-Perth on our Heritage Trails continues to be available to all guests.
