It happened in Rideau ... at 6599 Fourth Line, North Gower, Hiram Scott built the current structure in 1896 after a fire destroyed an earlier building. It operated as a store and Post Office until 1937 with living quarters on the South end while it had the store entrance to the North. Later changes are evident in the other photo as it became four apartments. Today it is a little different on the outside but the original shape is still visible. It happened in Rideau ... a copy of a January 28, 1867 draft of the opening paragraph of bill to create the British North America Act. In case you thought it was drafted up in June 1867 in time for a holiday on July 1. DSCF7397 Tweedmuir Histories, WI Man 1967.

It happened in Rideau ... SS11 North Gower, the Phelan School, built in 1895 and moved in 1962 from what is now Ormond St. to the Strathmere porperty 1998 Phelan Rd. In the LACAC files at the Rideau Branch, City of Ottawa Archives. As it was some years ago:

It happened in Rideau ... Car races began to be held at the Sun Valley Speedway near Carsonby in 1949. The photo is undated but held in the Carsonby History -02-files at the Rideau Branch, City of City of Ottawa Archives.
