The Guggenheim Museum (Guggenheim New York) explores the enduring influence of Pop art with Guggenheim Pop: 1960 to Now, an exhibition bringing together iconic works from the 1960s alongside contemporary perspectives.

From Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein to today’s leading voices, the exhibition examines how artists transformed everyday imagery, consumer culture, and familiar objects into powerful reflections on society, identity, and visual culture.

By elevating the ordinary into something unexpected, Pop art challenged traditional ideas of what art could be, leaving a lasting impact that continues to shape contemporary practice.

On view at the Guggenheim through January 10, 2027.

Today, we remember Yayoi Kusama, who has passed away at 97.

For more than seven decades, Kusama created a world entirely her own. Through her polka dots, infinity nets, pumpkins and mirrored rooms, she transformed repetition into something mesmerising, making the infinite feel almost within reach.

From her early years in Japan to New York’s avant-garde scene and, ultimately, international recognition, Kusama remained fiercely committed to her vision. She challenged the boundaries of painting, sculpture, installation, performance and what art could be.

Perhaps most movingly, she never stopped creating. Kusama continued to paint until her final days, never setting aside her brush.

Her work has left an extraordinary mark on contemporary art, inviting generations of viewers to experience wonder, infinity and the world through her singular perspective.

We honour the remarkable life and enduring legacy of Yayoi Kusama.

75,000 kites. One monumental vision.

Opening August 22 at SFMOMA (SFMOMA), Jacob Hashimoto (Jacob Hashimoto Studio): Giant Arc transforms the museum’s lobby into an immersive canopy of bamboo and Japanese paper, the largest installation of Hashimoto’s career to date.

Inspired by the Sonoran blue butterfly and incorporating references to Northern California flora and fauna, the work brings together thousands of delicate, hand-crafted elements that shift between clouds, maps, pixels, and imagined landscapes. From afar, the installation is monumental. Up close, it invites quiet contemplation and discovery.

As Hashimoto describes it, Giant Arc is “chaotic and meditative, playful and considered,” an artwork designed to leave room for each viewer to find their own meaning.

Hashimoto is an artist whose work we have long admired and supported, and whose distinctive installations we have had the pleasure of bringing into our clients’ spaces. A few highlights from Robin’s recent visit to Budapest!

An immersion into Victor Vasarely’s world of colour, geometry, and optical illusion.

Currently on view at the Museum of Fine Arts (Szépművészeti Múzeum), Budapest, Vasarely 120 celebrates the work of one of the most influential figures in Op Art. Vasarely’s precisely structured compositions transform simple geometric forms and bold colour relationships into works that seem to shift, move, and change as the viewer looks at them.

The exhibition offers a fascinating look at how Vasarely explored perception, challenging the boundary between painting and visual experience.
