Kamloops Art Gallery The Kamloops Art Gallery The Kamloops Art Gallery offers inspiring, provocative, and transformative art experiences of national caliber.

Located in Secwepemcúlecw , it is the largest art gallery in the Interior of British Columbia and boasts a collection of over 3,000 works of art. With more than 12 exhibitions every year, they offer diverse, accessible, and affordable experiences including talks, tours, and studio-based programming for people of all ages and abilities. The Kamloops Art Gallery was incorporated and opened in 1978. It is the principal Gallery for the visual arts in the southern interior of British Columbia. The Gallery is committed to the belief that art is an essential part of the human experience. It is dedicated to making this belief tangible within the communities it serves.

🐝 How can we build better cities that work for everyone? ⬇️

Join us for a special film night featuring a series of short films from the popular YouTube channel About Here. The event will open with a live remote conversation with Uytae Lee, urban planner, videographer, and founder of About Here, to explore how storytelling can help us imagine creative solutions to urban challenges. Bring your questions and leave inspired!

We invite you to drop in ahead of the conversation and film screening for a casual reception to celebrate the opening of the Open Gallery exhibition Imagine Here, including light refreshments and an art-making area. Bring a t-shirt or cloth bag to screen print or block print a design inspired by the exhibition.

The event is free, but space is limited, so register early to secure your spot.

Co-hosted by Propolis Cooperative Housing Society and Kamloops Art Gallery.

📺 The documentation of our opening night conversation between exhibiting artist Laura St. Pierre and curator Crystal Mowry is now available to view online! Together, they illuminate the underlying ideas in the exhibition and share insights into the making of the work.

Mowry introduces the exhibition by explaining the exhibition title, borrowed from the first few lines in the late Octavia Butler's prescient 1993 book Parable of a Sower: "All that you touch you change. All that you change changes you. The only lasting truth is change." Mowry reflects, "I found that so inspiring in a present that seems so unstable and ruinous in so many ways. To imagine a faith that is really predicated on change. What would happen in the only thing we really believed in was change?"

In these uncertain times, this exhibition offers space to consider a changed world and what renewal looks like. We welcome you to explore Laura St. Pierre's hopeful future world, in which her Sower and Scavenger characters labour to honour the natural world and bring life back to a desolate landscape.

Laura St. Pierre: All That You Change Changes You is organized and circulated by the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Curated by Crystal Mowry. The MacKenzie receives ongoing support from the South Saskatchewan Community Foundation, Canada Council for the Arts, SaskCulture, City of Regina, University of Regina, and Saskatchewan Arts Board.

All That You Change Changes You is on view from September 26, 2026 to January 9, 2027. Gallery Hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, and Thursdays 10 am to 8 pm.

📢Get out and VOTE – and visit the Kamloops Art Gallery for FREE.

The Kamloops Art Gallery (KAG) is encouraging all eligible voters to get out and vote in the Kamloops municipal election and the British Columbia provincial election.

Every vote matters! The KAG is committed to supporting our community, and we strongly believe in the importance of active civic engagement. Our community will be shaped by the outcome of these elections and voting is one of the most important ways we can advocate for ourselves and our community.

From October 15 to 25, 2026, tell our Gallery Admissions team that you have cast your vote in either or both elections and receive free admission to our galleries and a free “art is for everybody” pin as our humble thanks for taking part in the decisions that affect us all.

✅The 2026 General Local Election is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
✅The 2026 Provincial General Election is Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Stories We Share: Celebrating Black History & Culture

The Caribbean Diaspora Society of Kamloops and the Kamloops Art Gallery invite you to an evening of creativity, cultural expression, and community connection to celebrate Black history and culture in Kamloops.

This gathering is the first in a series of events that seek to build connection and community while contributing to a living archive of Black experience in Kamloops. The outcomes of these gatherings will be shared in an exhibition on our Open Gallery in March 2027.

Participants can simply enjoy the evening and/or create artwork and share their stories. Those who would like to contribute to the developing exhibition will have the opportunity to share their artwork and contribute to a video archive through a casual interview session.

All adults in the Black community are welcome to come out, express themselves, and be part of celebrating our shared history. Come celebrate our culture, honour our history, and create a lasting legacy for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the opening of our Fall exhibitions Saturday evening. It was a joy-filled celebration of arts and culture in Kamloops.
