Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum 200 year old Cole Harbour Farm. Open May 15th-Oct 15th and off season by appt. Year round events! Contact 902-434-0222 for further information.

The Cole Harbour Heritage Farm Museum, AKA "the farm", is an original Cole Harbour farm, cultivated continuously for over 200 years. It seeks to actively involve the public in awareness and protection of our natural and cultural resources and foster appreciation and respect for community - past, present, and future. The Farm is open five days a week from May 15 to October 15 every year. From May to October, there is a variety of animals on site usually including sheep, lambs, chickens and chicks, ducklings, and calves. During hours of operation feel free to come and visit the farm and the animals, admission is by donation or book a group tour! (Contact the farm for booking information)

We are always available for enquiries and appointments may be made for research.

Vendor spotlight on Two Rebels Art!

We are excited to welcome these two rebels back to the market this year. They create seaglass art, bead pictures, macrame gnomes, dolls and more!

Visit Two Rebels Art and more than 25 other vendors at the Warm Up to Winter Market, on Saturday, November 21, from 11am to 3pm, at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm!

Admission is by donation and all proceeds support our community museum.

For our first vendor spotlight we have long time friend and supporter of The Farm, Nora Gross!

Nora will have prints and art cards available, as well as a matted originals. If you're looking to decorate your home, or send out unique Christmas cards, you should definitely visit her table!

Visit Nora and more than 25 other vendors at the Warm Up to Winter Market, on Saturday, November 21, from 11am to 3pm, at the Cole Harbour Heritage Farm! Admission is by donation and all proceeds support our community museum.

Join us on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for our annual Warm Up to Winter Market.

This cheerful indoor/outdoor market celebrates the beginning of the holiday season with a wide selection of carefully curated crafts and creations.

Our farmyard will be bustling and festive, with a wood fire, all handmade, quality product, and delightful seasonal treats and hot beverages from the Rose & Kettle Tea Room. Admission is pay-what-you-can and all proceeds support our community museum operations.

While our museum has now closed for the season (May 15-Oct 15), the farm grounds remain open for you to explore from dawn to dusk.

We have lots of workshops and events to share with you this autumn and winter to keep you feeling connected and inspired.

If you have ever admired Susan Lawlor’s naturally-dyed and eco-printed products in our Gift Shop, we have perfect the workshop for you!

Join us next week in the cozy verandah of the Harris House for Susan’s very first Bandana Eco Printing workshop at the Farm! This is the perfect opportunity to meet your neighbours, learn more about eco-printing, and make your own bandana. It’s a perfect solo date night or to sign up with friends. We will be using flower petals collected from Susan’s own garden to dye pre-treated bandanas. Susan’s passion and dedication for natural materials will inspire you.

Returning to the Our Heritage stage is Koromanti and the North Star!

A band named after the first recorded instance of Afro-diasporic music. The name speaks to the band's desire to dig up and revive the African roots of folk music and reflects the sonic ways the band shows how that music arrived in Mi'kma'ki. Featuring old time strings and West African percussion Koromanti and the North Star lifts up forgotten African roots, blues, gospel and folk songs from across the diaspora and blends them with ancestral sounds.

In partnership with the Helen Creighton Folklore Society, this gala will explore the continuing evolution of our province's cultural heritage through food, music and art.

Happy Thanksgiving! The tea room may now be closed for the season, but Rose & Kettle to-go will continue to serve up delicious homemade meals and baked goods through the winter and spring.

Shepherd's pie is back for the first time this year, along with silky honey, turnip & thyme soup. Fall is the time for root veggies, so we've added a hearty chicken soup to the menu as well.

Biscuits are back in baking, plus decadent Nanaimo bars! This will your last chance to get your hands on some pumpkin scones, so don't miss them!
