Becoming a Craig Gallery Volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of art, meet new people, and help support the arts in Dartmouth. Create beautiful blueprints using chemistry, sunlight and water at our next Craig Gallery Waterfront Workshop!

Artist Natalie Goulet will introduce participants to cyanotype, one of the earliest and simplest photographic processes. You’ll learn about its place in the history of photography, gain hands-on experience and leave with an assortment of prints created on paper and fabric.

Participants are welcome to bring objects they would like to use in their prints.

Hear firsthand about their creative practices, the inspiration behind their work, and their experiences throughout the 10-month mentorship program. It’s a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, gain insight into the artistic process, and connect with the artists in an informal and engaging setting.

A new exhibition is now open at The Craig Gallery!

Join us tonight for the opening reception of What Holds, the 2025–26 VANS Mentorship Program Exhibition.

This exhibition highlights emerging artists Jordan Johnson, Kamila Orbegoso, Shane Song, and Jessica Steele, alongside their mentors Melanie Colosimo, Margarita Fainshtein, Mathew Reichertz, and Christopher Webb.

Since 2006, VANS has paired emerging and established artists through a 10-month mentorship program, supporting creative growth, professional development, and the sharing of artistic knowledge.

After the amazing response to our paper marbling workshops, we’re bringing Ebru to something you can use every day! ✨

Join us at The Craig Gallery on Sunday, June 28 for an Ebru Tote Bags Workshop, where you’ll explore the traditional art of Ebru and create your own one-of-a-kind hand-marbled canvas tote bag.

There are two workshop times available. Choose the session that works best for you, or sign up for both if you’d like to keep creating!

Workshop 1: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Workshop 2: 12:30–1:30 PM

In this hands-on workshop, pigments are floated and gently swirled on water to create flowing florals and abstract designs before being transferred onto fabric. With roots in Central Asia and refined in Turkey, Ebru is a centuries-old art form recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Come experiment, get a little messy, and leave with your own wearable piece of art!
