The Craig Gallery at Alderney Landing A not-for-profit art gallery in Dartmouth promoting the arts of emerging and professional artists

The Craig Gallery is staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers, some of whom belong to the Dartmouth Visual Arts Society. Becoming a Craig Gallery Volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to see a wide variety of art, meet new people, and help support the arts in Dartmouth. 🎨 ME, YOU, WE: A Youth Art Exhibition

What does it mean to be me? How do we connect with you? And how do we create a we?

Join us TODAY, Thursday October 1st at The Craig Gallery for ME, YOU, WE, a youth-created and curated exhibition featuring artwork by MacPhee youth ages 12–19.

Through painting, sculpture, textiles, songs and more, youth explore identity, relationships, community, and what it means to find your place in the world.

Come see the world through the eyes of our young artists and celebrate the creativity, perspectives, and stories they have brought to life. 💛

Celebrate the harvest season by creating your own beaded sunflower with facilitator Sydney Wreaks. Turn your finished piece into a pin, a patch or something beautiful to hang.

As we welcome the seasonal change, we’ll come together to learn the art of beading and honour the sunflower, a native plant that helps our gardens flourish and ushers in the autumn season.

On the Threshold
An art installation by Marie-Soleil Provençal

Join us at The Craig Gallery this Thursday, August 27 from 5PM–7PM for the opening reception of On the Threshold.

📍 The Craig Gallery, Alderney Landing
Everyone is welcome.

On the Threshold features EMERGENCY QUILTS, a series of thermal blankets inspired by traditional quilting and the history of quilts created for Canadian Red Cross relief efforts during the Second World War.

By combining the visual language of quilting with materials associated with emergency response, the exhibition explores ideas of collective care, mutual aid, protection, displacement and resilience.

This Nova Scotia edition is presented in collaboration with the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild and the Mayflower Quilters Guild.

Create beautiful blueprints using chemistry, sunlight and water at our next Craig Gallery Waterfront Workshop!

Artist Natalie Goulet will introduce participants to cyanotype, one of the earliest and simplest photographic processes. You’ll learn about its place in the history of photography, gain hands-on experience and leave with an assortment of prints created on paper and fabric.

Participants are welcome to bring objects they would like to use in their prints.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, gain insight into the artistic process, and connect with the artists in an informal and engaging setting.
