Mackie Lake House is open for Tours and Petit Tea, and we'd ✨love✨ to welcome you!

Join us every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from now until the end of August. Take in some local history with a guided tour of Mackie Lake House, or enjoy a delicious light afternoon tea on the veranda amidst the gardens (and let us know if you spot some local wildlife!)

Guided tours are $15 per person and are drop-in. Last tour of the day goes at 3:00pm.

Petit Tea is $22 per person and registration is required. Book online through our website or give us a call at 250-545-1019.

We're just one week away from Solstice Yoga at Mackie Lake House! Be sure to sign up in advance (link in comments) in order to secure your place.

Can't make it on June 22? No worries, we'll be doing sunset yoga every Monday evening in July and August. Pre-registration is preferred, classes are just $10 per person.

We're excited to be partnering with Vernon Community Arts Centre this summer to deliver a number of incredible art classes - one of which is Plein Air with Tina Siddiqui.

This outdoor class invites artists of all levels to connect with nature and explore their creativity with guidance and support.
Students will meet on-site at 9:00 am and spend the morning immersed in the vibrant sights, sounds, and colours of the garden. Tina will be on hand throughout to provide encouragement, instruction as needed, and personalised feedback to help you grow your skills and artistic confidence.

Every year on 6 June, we take some time to reflect on the anniversary of Operation Overlord - an Allied invasion of Europe and the attempt to re-take territory from Germany during the Second World War.

Numerous residents of the Lake House served during the Second World War, and not all of them returned home again. Families like the Laytons and the Mackies would have received news of this historic invasion with great anticipation, though it's impossible to know what this day might have felt like for them.

Happy 2026! Be sure to bike or walk over to Mackie Lake House today from 12-2 to enjoy the grounds, grab an ice tea (or an ice cream!) and check out the gift shop. Mackie Lake House is a picnic encouraged site, though we must warn you of extreme whimsy and a strong chance of enjoying nature while you’re here. Results may vary 🚲

We'll be hosting school field trips this month, from June 8 - 18. We can't wait to welcome local kiddos to the site, and are so thankful to receive assistance for this program from UBCO. Please note: we will not be offering guided tours of the House during this two-week period because our entire team will instead be helping to deliver educational programs.
