Huge thanks to Caitlan Hyland for creating these amazing resources for our window display this month about the Four Food Chiefs!
The story of the Four Food Chiefs is an oral tradition that has been passed down for generations by the Syilx people of the Okanagan. Because of the oral nature of this tail it is impossible to know exactly how old the story is but, experts estimate that is anywhere from seven to ten thousand years old!

Have a Seat - Take a Bow!

A number of you have attended our various events and as you know some of our chairs are not as comfortable as they could be. Our Have A Seat campaign goal is to replace our 50 old worn out, uncomfortable chairs with one like that pictured here. We are almost half way there with 20 new chairs. Help us reach our goal!

If you are not able to donate personally, perhaps you know friends or businesses that you regularly visit that would be interested in donating to the campaign. For a donation of $100 donors will be acknowledged with their name or business logo on the chair, and individuals will receive a tax receipt. Can you help? Donate in person at the Gallery Vertigo or Via e-transfer to [email protected]!

Did you know…?
On this day in 2003 Gallery Vertigo had the opening reception for two exhibits. Home and Away by Michele Lucas and Gramma’s Quilt by Tansley Boyenko were on display in the two galleries at the 3001 31st street location!
Interestingly enough, one of Michele’s paintings is still on display as a permanent fixture above the desk at our current location and is the title picture on our page!
As part of our 25th anniversary we will be celebrating the legacy of art that Gallery Vertigo has brought to the community! In fact, our next opening reception, on June 4th, will be a retrospective of our very own studio artist John Lawrence!
