Hey friends — Going to be firing up the DIY pizza making this weekend with my Dad :)

Open Friday 4–8pm and Saturday 12–8pm. Come gather and make together.

Thinking of you all this weekend, with Sunday being Father’s Day — for whatever that day means for you: light, shade, or everything in between.

For me, Dad has always been by my side, generously sharing, showing and supporting my ideas — this one no different. Dad’s been on the journey since day one at The Harvest and I’m excited for you to learn some Italian from him.

Oh, Gambino will be around too. (I am his Dad sort of)

This weekend, the pizza oven passes into Sue McGary's hands.

Sue is a Witta local, the founder of French Affair and someone who has already put so much of care into The Harvest already.

This Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August from 4pm, she becomes our first community custodian for the pizza nights.

Come say hello, make a pizza and help give Sue a warm first weekend.

We want to keep trying evenings held by people from around Witta. Each person will bring their own feel to the table. We are interested in learning what works and what happens with community takes the lead.

If you would like to take a turn as pizza custodian in the future please reach out with any ideas.

One little change to pizza weekends at The Harvest.

We are pausing our Sunday sessions for the next few months while we work on the next shape of the weekends. We might do a few more pop up events but let ya'll know the week they are on.

Friday and Saturday pizza will continue.

We are also extending kids eat free through the rest of August and September. It looks like a couple of families may have missed the offer because our message was not clear. If anyone was effected by this please let us know and we can fix you up.

So this Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August evenings, kids eat free. No pizza on Sunday.

Come through the gate, stretch a base, choose your toppings and find a spot in the garden or at the long table.

Please share this with a family who might like a fun night out in Witta.

After two amazing months, Denis and Katrina's time at The Harvest has come to an end.

They have been the most incredible pizza hosts and helped us see what these nights can be: somewhere to make your own dinner, spend time with community and helped shape the next phase of The Harvest.

The most generous stewards of this space. We will miss them deeply.

We'll see you later, Denis and Katrina. We cannot wait to have you back around the table.

If anyone has any messages to share, comment here or send through any messages and we can be sure to make sure they get them.

Kids eat free...an experiment for families at The Harvest.

We’ve heard honest feedback that bringing the whole family to The Harvest can feel out of reach, particularly with the cost-of-living pressures many people are carrying.

We want to listen and respond in a way that reflects the kind of place we are working to become.

So for this weekend, we’re trialling Kids Eat Free at The Harvest. Then if all goes well will continue with it.

Open tonight for pizza and soft drink: 3pm to 8pm, Saturday 12pm to 8pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm.

We would love to learn whether it makes it easier for families to share a meal, spend time together and participate in what is growing here.

We also know that families take many forms. They may include parents, grandparents, carers, kin, chosen family and others who share responsibility for children. We would love to hear what “family” means in your life and whether this offer would genuinely support you.

For The Harvest to keep serving the community, it must also be able to keep its doors open, pay people fairly and build the capacity to offer more over time. We don’t want to work through these questions from behind closed doors. We want to explore them openly, alongside the people this place is here for.

Come and grow, make and gather and help us learn what a fairer and more welcoming local table could look like.

Share your thoughts below, send us a private message, or join the deeper conversation in our member community.

Hope to see you in the community soon.
Benjamin and Nic
