MDF is coming to the Timber Trail 🔥

We’re beyond excited to announce that the Makers’ Design Fair (MDF) is officially part of this year’s Montville Timber Trail — bringing together an incredible lineup of local artisans alongside talented woodworkers from across the region and beyond.

Step inside the MDF gallery space and you’ll find a carefully curated collection of handmade work, from ceramics and printmaking to pyrography, knife making, woodturning, spoon carving, and fine furniture. It’s a celebration of craftsmanship in all its forms — not just wood, but the wider creative community that surrounds it.

This is your chance to meet the makers, hear the stories behind the work, and take home something truly one-of-a-kind. No mass production. No guesswork. Just beautifully made pieces with real meaning behind them.

So grab your crew, make a day of it, and explore everything the Timber Trail has to offer. You might just find the perfect piece you didn’t even know you were looking for.

Only a few spots left… and they won’t last long 🔥

This weekend at the Montville Timber Trail (May 2–3), you’ve got the chance to step inside the Village Hall, Montville QLD and build your very own handcrafted timber stool from scratch.

Over two hands-on days, you’ll learn from Sara Smith of all the fundamentals of traditional woodworking — shaping, joinery, and assembly — all guided in a relaxed, supportive environment. No experience needed, just a willingness to give it a go.

Expect good tools, great company, plenty of laughs, and that unbeatable feeling of walking away with something you made with your own hands. It’s practical, creative, and seriously satisfying.

Whether you come solo or bring a mate, this is one of those weekends you’ll be talking about for a long time.

Find the link to the workshops on the website or in the link in the bio! Jump in now and secure your spot before they’re gone.

It’s been over 32 years, but the Montvale Estate is finally selling plants again!!

Back in 1989, Montvale (formally known as ADAMS PALMS Nursery) opened its doors to nature loving customers selling plants and seedlings specialising in rare and exotic Palms.

This weekend Barung Landcare will be setting up a native plant stall in the exact location where Clive and Ann Adams sold their plants for the first time 37 years ago!

As a part of the exhibition festivities and coinciding with the Barung will be selling native plants from the Montvale car park all weekend!!

Join the trail and get in on all the fun in Montville this weekend and pick yourself up some lovely native plants as well!

🌱Exhibitor Announcement!📣

Joining the Montville Timber Trail this year is the amazing Tom Springall of

A lifelong woodworker with a perfectionist’s eye and a deep respect for craftsmanship, Tom takes immense pride in every piece he creates. His journey began in Scotland, where he honed his skills under a master craftsman, learning the value of precision, patience, and detail. Today, Tom creates bespoke fine furniture and lighting from his workshop on our family farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, where we live with our young son, surrounded by native woodland that inspires his work daily. For Tom, woodworking isn’t just a profession — it’s a lifelong passion, and every piece he makes reflects a commitment to quality, sustainability, and timeless design.

Catch Tom this weekend in the Makers’ Design Fair gallery space next to the Village hall and marvel at his amazing handmade furniture.
