Final week to experience The Boneyard.

There are just days left to discover Erin Coates' striking exhibition at Albany's Historic Whaling Station, on display until Sunday 30 August.

Developed through a year-long artist residency, The Boneyard draws on Erin's personal connection to Kinjarling / Albany, her family's history in shell diving and seafaring, and the legacy of Western Australia's whaling industry.

Through sculpture, suspended installations and evocative imagery, the exhibition explores memory, extinction and regeneration, with works extending beyond the gallery into the historic site – including a unique installation beneath the original whaling factory cutting-up deck.

If you haven't yet experienced The Boneyard, make time to explore this thought-provoking collection before it closes.

40 years of creativity. 19 local artists. One final exhibition.

This September, Albany’s Historic Whaling Station welcomes Viewpoint Maritime Exhibition, a special celebration of Great Southern creativity and the sea.

After 40 years of supporting 3D art and fostering artistic talent across the region, Viewpoint Inc is marking the end of an era with one final exhibition – and a fitting maritime finale.

Bringing together the work of 19 local 3D artists, the exhibition draws inspiration from historical records, our spectacular coastline, local flora and fauna, and the colours and textures of the maritime world. Discover works created in clay, wood, wool, fibre, textiles, metal and recycled materials, each offering a different interpretation of our connection to the sea.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Viewpoint’s remarkable legacy and the creativity, craftsmanship and imagination of Great Southern artists.
