These new pieces and more from Tina Cooper are now available on the website!

Tina's blown glass is both organic and deliberate, painted by indigenous artists, and sometimes inhabited by some fairly cute glass critters to boot.

Tina has been a great friend to us and our gallery for a long time, and we're delighted to be able to show off the quality of her work and make it available to anyone who is enthusiastic about her artworks.

There's more on the website, go check them out!

Some of our favourite pieces by the great Kuddtji are his colour studies, whether it be red, blue, orange, purple or any other colour he chose to play with, the results were always spectacular.

You can see images of Kuddtji working on this lovely 179 x 120cm piece. Watching Kuddtji paint was one of our favourite little treats - he was a calm, gentle man and we miss him. We're so lucky to have spent time with him and to have been able to share in his art.

We have a large selection of his works in our collection, should you find any of them to your liking please get in touch, we'd love to help you find just the right piece.

Albury Dixon Jungala is the son of Ronnie Tjampitjinpa, one of our most celebrated artists, and while Albury may not have yet achieved the level of notoriety that his father enjoys, his artwork is lovely, informed by the teachings of his father, and very approachable in regards to the pricing.

These wonderful pieces are similar in styling to Ronnie's Moon Dreaming and Tingari paintings, with precise confident lines, high contrast, and traditional colours that hearken to the ochres made and used by Aboriginal artists prior to the introduction of acrylic paint in the 1970s.

To learn more or express interest in these pieces we invite you to contact us via our socials, or emailing us at [email protected]

This spectacular piece is a collaboration by Sarrita and Tarisse King and includes the representation of land by both of these very talented girls. The two styles juxtaposed against one another makes for a powerful and dramatic image, bolstered by the contrast of white on black, and the red ‘bloodline’ running through the middle of the canvas.

This is a large piece at 300 x 180cm but if you’ve the wall to accommodate it, it would be a fantastic addition to a residential or commercial space and captivate any who look upon it.

This piece currently adorns our stairwell at the Stockroom - and while we’d be sad to see it go, we’d love to put it in the hands of someone who can enjoy it daily. get in touch if that sounds like you.

Tina Cooper is not just a wonderfully talented artist, but also a long tern friend of the gallery and of ourselves personally. The glass that she creates is beautiful, unique, and almost magical or alchemical in the way it brought in to being.

These are the works of Tina’s that are currently available on the website, but these are just to whet your whistle as next week we’ll be putting a number of other artworks from Tina up on the website - watch this pace for more stunning glass art created by Tina Cooper, and then painted on by a selection of indigenous artists.

Contact us if you’re looking for something as out of the ordinary as these lovely glass works.

We often make comment on the vibrancy and colour of many of the lovely pieces we have on offer, but there is also beauty in the simplicity of a black and white image.

Each of these pieces by a variety of artists are in the most simple palette available to any artist - white paint on a black background - and the results are simply stunning. Colour is a useful tool, but often a black and white image can increase the importance of composition, the movement achieved through brushstrokes, or the drama achieved with a clever balance of positive and negative space in pieces such as these.

This is only a selection of the black and white works we have available, to see more visit our website or contact us to arrange a tour of our gallery space in Port Melbourne.
