commercial art gallery which was set up in Melbourne in 2005. With a presence in Australia, London and Kuala Lumpur, Goya Galleries has cemented its status as an international entity. Goya Galleries and Goya Art Resources was founded by Chiara Goya, a curator and gallerist with over 30 years’ experience in running commercial art galleries and artist-led spaces. She is well known for her involvement in the Roar studios movement of 1983 as a student, and has been dealing in art across the world ever since. Chiara trained as a painter at RMT and then studied photography at the Philip Institute. She was a committee member for Roar Studios in the 80s and established life drawing classes there which were successful for 20 years. She then worked as a commercial photographer and art director for 15 years, before owning three galleries in Melbourne in 2005. Chiara has also set up an artist led space in the quirky Fitzroy area of the city, and established the Melbourne Studio School. In her latest venture, Chiara provides clients with a private professional and personal approach to collecting fine art. Goya Art Resources focuses on private luxury buildings and hotels, sourcing architectural wonders and art works for these types of spaces. She regularly works with interior designers, architectural firms and project developers to enhance the spaces they are working on.
