Come by to visit and experience a phenomenal creative destination - a leader within the local hunter arts community, supporting artists professional development and livelihood. Last weekend to see 𝘈 𝘓𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘳, a solo show by Aidan Gageler.
Come in and see this incredible series of works – we’re open until 5pm!

‘A Lack of Colour’ is the next iteration of Aidan Gageler’s silver gelatin paper material study. He has been working on this project since 2020, using materials that date back to the 1880s. For years, he has collected these black-and-white developing-out papers from around the world and from the many different manufacturers of the bygone era. Without the use of a camera or enlarger, the papers are developed, stopped and fixed under the familiar glow of the red safelight. The results are not images in the conventional sense, but are created using the same traditional recipe of light, time and chemistry. These images have been sculpted by previous mishandling, years of oxidation and chemical breakdown.

‘The “With Grace” Project’ is a documentary portrait series by photographer Niamh Fitzsimons (Maitland NSW Photographer), inspired by her daughter Grace, who lives with the rare genetic condition 4q21 microdeletion syndrome. Celebrating children and young people living with disability, chronic illness and complex needs, the project uses intimate portraits to challenge assumptions, increase visibility, and highlight individuality, joy and connection. Drawing on her lived experience as both a photographer and parent, Fitzsimons creates authentic, inclusive portraits that encourage viewers to look beyond labels and celebrate the unique identity of each child and family.

Marlin seeks to capture elements of his subjects’ personalities while adding his own vision through light manipulation. This approach extends to his landscape and architectural photography; dominated by strong contrast and the influence of light.
