I’m not going to pretend to be a bag maker, because I’m not! I’m an ad hoc sewer, who generally looks at a pattern, followed by throwing it over my shoulder. I stopped trying to follow patterns years ago & just make things up as I go if I want to sew something.
However, I showed my beautiful daughter the pattern in the last photo, thinking “This looks pretty simple”. Going by the image on the front.
But she then said, “Hmmmmm… Mum, can you make it much bigger & out of denim? But, I really like the front!!!” 😳
As you will see by the pictures, the two bags are so very alike in size & style! 🤔
So make it up as I went … I did! 😖😆
My beautiful girl has started her teaching career this year & this is now her work bag. The lining of the bag & “button” (broach) to close the bag is my darling, recently lost Mum. 🪽💔
The kid’s loved their Nan beyond words!
Some of the denim & the pockets on the inside of the bag (image 6) are from an old pair of jeans that were mine. So Lani will be able to carry some of her beloved Nan, as well as her Mum when she goes to work each day.
Let’s face it, every teacher needs an angel watching over them every day right?!
We love you & miss you so much Mum / Nan. 🪽❤️
