I’ve hand stitched an Ollie toy (one of my dogs) out of the very minimal materials I have to do so. The dogs & I have met a gorgeous little boy at the park who is profoundly deaf (& his lovely carer). Ollie loves to steal his tennis ball & the little guy loves the game. Barney tries to stop Ollie which is equally cute. I’m looking forward to giving the Ollie toy to the little fella when we next see him at the park. galleryplacesuepalmer.com.

I’ve made a couple of extra pinecone gnomes for two nurses who recently took care of me. I hope they like them.
I think my Ollie has gnome envy! 🤔 (This stuffing was originally for monster making, but ended up being donated to the dogs who found comfort in it. New stuffing securely set aside for the monsters.)

Over the past 4 months I have hand cut & hand stitched 28 monster toys (as well as making other things … & also working). I’ve gifted 6 monsters - previously posted here.
My goal was to make 20 monsters to donate to the local Lions Club - they give gifts to the children here at Christmas. 🥰
I was able to cut a couple of extras out of the remaining scraps of fabric. So there are 22 in total to donate.

I’ve cut & hand stitched these monsters for a few “little people”. Two of them have been unwell & of course I couldn’t leave out their big brother who is still only little as well.
I don’t know the family, but hope these gifts help to bring some joy to their lives at this time. Even if it’s just a little. 🤞
I’m very familiar with the impact on a family when children are unwell &/or require surgery!
If you compare them, you’ll see these monsters are different to the previous ones I gifted.

An age old craft, I’ve wanted to attempt basketry for many years, but wasn’t able to find materials that I thought were suitable. I’ve successfully embarrassed my children on many occasions foraging natural materials for my art. They don’t have to tag along these days, so I’m free to forage!
