Join our Thursday Mixed Media Workshop from 10am-2pm and bring along any mediums of your choice.

Or join our Artist's Workshop tonight from 7pm-9pm and get creating beside some of our long-time members.

Want to use watercolours but find them daunting? Come along to our next artist demonstration, where watercolour expert Rehann Vazid will share his insights and techniques on how to control a medium that sometimes has a mind of its own!

The demonstration will be held at The Hut on Saturday, 25th of July, from 2pm and costs $15 to join. Afternoon tea will be provided. We hope to see you there!

If Christine Lacreole's Cyndi Lauper-inspired cubist work gives you some earworm and courage to do a still life, come join our Tuesday Still Life Workshop from 10am-2pm! It only costs $5 if you are already a member and your own materials (props optional)!

This work is also part of our "Films, Books & Songs" exhibition, so take a look at it while you're in our gallery.

In the mood for an inspiring film of courage? Join the Ferntree Gully Film Society and watch Irena's Vow!

Directed by Louise Archambault, this remarkable true story shows the brave actions of Polish nurse Irena Gut Opdyke, who protected Jewish people from persecution in the Holocaust. Starring Sophie Nélisse as Irena and Dougray Scott as Major Eduard Rügemer, this film serves as a reminder of the strength of human compassion and sacrifice during dangerous times.

Screening is on Monday, June 22nd at 7pm in Cinema Europa, Village Cinemas Knox. If you'd like to see future films the FTG Film Society has to offer, you can sign up as a member now! The link for membership details is below. The membership fee covers all the films for this year.

Are you a ceramics enthusiast? Don't forget that Jessica McConnell's solo exhibition, "Expressions in Colour and Clay" is still on in our foyer! Jessica's sculptures encompass a variety of themes, including motherhood, music, and the natural world. With sinuous lines and freeform structures, her works take on the quality of three-dimensional drawings, each with a unique narrative.

The last few rays of sunlight illuminate the spines of various books, beckoning the viewer to pick them up. Even if we are tired from the events of the day, a book provides a stimulating escape without even needing to leave our chair. In using reflection and light, Barbara adds a layer of ambiguity to the image: The books are in clear sight, yet the titles are slightly obscured, thus stirring our curiosity and memories. We are encouraged to draw closer, tempted to pick up one of these books for ourselves. By adding to our intrigue, Barbara's work achieves exactly what a good book does for the mind and imagination.

Come see this work and the rest of our "Films, Books & Songs" exhibition! This can be viewed in our main gallery space from 11am-4pm from Thursday to Sunday.
