Jessica McConnell's first solo show, "Expressions in Colour and Clay," will be coming up in The Hut very soon! Jessica's whimsical and bold sculptures showcase her love for motherhood, music, and nature. These gently painted, stylised characters bring imagination to the three-dimensional world, taking on a life of their own.

This will also be the first ceramic exhibition for the year, so make sure to drop by for something truly extraordinary!

There are so many incredible individuals in the Knox District. From musicians to inventors to the very valuable volunteers that assist our community, Barbara Oehring has captured them all! These photographs are not merely snapshots of events that have occurred. Rather, they show the importance of qualities like creativity, intelligence, and kindness. It's these qualities that make Knox the place to be!

Don't forget that the Ferntree Gully News exhibition is still on in our foyer until the 29th, so make sure to take a look when you're in the area! This exhibition can be viewed today, Thursday, and Friday from 11am-4pm.

A tree stands alone, bare branches gnarled from age. And yet, it still stands, bearing witness from the changes that are happening in its surroundings. The minimal background brings our eyes towards the intricate shapes in the bark patterns and knots: Though an old tree, it is these elements that make it so striking. While the spindly branches above create an eerie feel, this is balanced by the sinuous form of the trunk, the roots reminiscent to the folds of a gown. There is an elegance to this tree, as well as a sense of perseverance that adds to its charm. In a world that often favours youth and novelty, Julie's work challenges us to see the beauty and value in the old as well.

We are in our final weeks of the "Life Stages" exhibition! If you're interested in seeing something different, be sure to drop into The Hut this weekend. We are open from 11am-4pm.

If you've stopped by Bendigo Bank Ferntree Gully recently, you may have spotted something familiar: Our very own Malcolm Lord has a work displayed there! His acrylic painting, "Tallin," was the winner of last month's Hangers' Prize, as well as the recipient of the Highly Commended Prize (Acrylic Category) during our "4 Mediums" exhibition. Well done, Malcolm!

We would also like to give a big thank you to Bendigo Bank for continually supporting our local artists and FTG Arts Society. Make sure to keep an eye out for Malcolm's work the next time you do your banking!
