We are passionate about a few things two of them being coffee and art. We have been working as baristas for over ten years and have been actively collecting and participating in Brisbane’s growing and ever changing street art and graffiti scene. We love to discover new and exciting pieces of street and graffiti art in and around Brisbane. ART IS NOT A CRIME. Our galley hosts monthly exhibitions fr

om street and graffiti artist, showcasing work from some extremely talented and little know artists. Exhibition openings are accompanied by espresso martinis made with our bench signature blend coffee. Behind the name: Bench Espresso
Over a quarter of a century ago graffiti writers from the Bronx began meeting at the 149th St. Grand concourse platform benches to watch trains carrying graffiti. This was an ideal location because it was where the 2 and 5 IRT train lines converged, showcasing some of the cities best graffiti pieces. The bench began attracting more and more graffiti writers to the point that it was a place of pilgrimage. Other stations benches became popular but none to the effect of this bench at the 149th St. Grand concourse station. The writers bench is an important symbol and historical marker for graffiti writers.
