Milk Factory Gallery Milk Factory Gallery The original Milk Factory was built in 1921 primarily as a depot for local farmers to manufacture dairy products.

The Milk Factory Art Gallery and Exhibition Space was established in 2005 with the dual aim of providing art lovers with a venue in which to view contemporary artwork as well as offering a unique space for exhibitors to profile their works. Over time the factory has had many uses. Encompassing a floor area of over 90 square metres and with over 7 metre high ceilings this impressive space is ideal for exhibiting large works of art as well as sculpture and installations. The Gallery is situated in the heart of Bowral’s CBD, within 1 ½ hours drive from most parts of Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong. Solo exhibitions are organised for invited artists from all areas throughout the year as well as mixed and group shows. This includes all mediums from original works to printmaking, ceramics, photography and sculpture

When it comes to capturing the true spirit of the Australian landscape, few do it quite like Ted Lewis!

Over the years, Ted has been one of the Milk Factory Gallery’s most sought-after artists. His superb paintings of the Australian bush, cattle, rural properties and breathtaking seascapes have found their way into the homes and hearts of countless art lovers and collectors.

Ted is the quintessential laid-back Aussie — relaxed, down-to-earth, unassuming and an absolute delight to work with. His paintings reflect the country he knows and loves, capturing the beauty, character and atmosphere of rural Australia with remarkable authenticity.

He’s not just painting the Australian landscape — he’s painting his own backyard. Ted really is “the real deal”! 🇦🇺

❤️ A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ROS GOODY ❤️

What an incredible journey together! For over 32 years, Ros Goody has been part of our gallery family, first at Gallery Gibraltar and then at the Milk Factory Gallery.

Ros is renowned for her beautiful watercolours capturing the true spirit of rural Australia — from sweeping outback landscapes to magnificent horses, stockmen, cattle and, of course, her much-loved working dogs. 🐕🐎

Her remarkable talent for bringing these scenes to life has delighted gallery visitors and collectors for more than three decades.

But Ros has given us something even more special than her wonderful artwork… TOTO! 🐾❤️

Our beloved four-legged Gallery Assistant, who has welcomed countless visitors, supervised proceedings and generally stolen the show, is a gift from Ros that we will treasure forever!

Ros, thank you for 32 wonderful years of friendship, loyalty, beautiful artwork and, most importantly, for trusting us with Toto. We couldn’t have asked for a better gallery companion — or a more special friend.

❤️ A FOND FAREWELL & THANK YOU TO ALAN WESTON ❤️

Our association with Alan Weston goes back many, many years — long before he began exhibiting his beautiful paintings at the Milk Factory Gallery.

Alan was our trusted signwriter for countless exhibitions, always incredibly quick, professional, reliable and an absolute pleasure to work with. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and everything he produced was finished to perfection.

When Alan eventually introduced us to his artwork, we weren’t surprised by the extraordinary quality of his paintings. His background as a professional signwriter was evident in every brushstroke — immaculate attention to detail, beautiful composition and a precision that made his Australian rural landscapes truly special.

His paintings have been enormously popular with our gallery visitors and collectors from all over Australia, capturing the charm, character and beauty of our countryside.

Alan has now retired to the beautiful North Coast, where he can devote himself full-time to his passion for painting — and we have no doubt there are many more wonderful artworks to come!

Thank you, Alan, for all those years of wonderful service, friendship, professionalism and, of course, for sharing your remarkable artistic talent with us.

What a pleasure it has been to have the wonderfully talented Ross Townsend exhibiting at the Milk Factory Gallery!

A Canberra-based, self-taught artist who has been painting since 1985, Ross has an extraordinary range of artistic talents. From exquisite landscapes and seascapes to beautifully detailed portraits, animals and florals, his remarkable ability to capture light, atmosphere and character has made his work highly sought after by art lovers and collectors alike.

But it’s not just his artistic talent that makes Ross so special. He has always been an absolute delight to work with — warm, friendly and generous with his time, happily chatting with gallery visitors and sharing the inspirations and techniques behind his beautiful paintings.

Ross’s exhibitions have always been a highlight at the MFG, and we’ve loved watching visitors discover and fall in love with his work.

There is something wonderfully uplifting about Kate Graham’s paintings. Her joyful colours, charming landscapes and whimsical style have brought so many smiles to visitors at the Milk Factory Gallery over the years.

Kate’s work has always appealed to art lovers of all ages, but particularly to young families setting up their homes and looking for that special painting to bring warmth, colour and happiness into their lives.

Her distinctive style has made her one of our consistently popular artists, with her beautiful paintings finding their way into homes where we know they will be loved and treasured for many years to come.

Some artists have a truly extraordinary gift, and Janet Matthews is certainly one of them!

Described as “weaving magic with pencil,” Janet’s exquisite drawings of Australian wildlife and botanicals are breathtaking in their detail, personality and precision. Her ability to capture the beauty and character of our natural world with coloured pencil and graphite is quite remarkable.

A multi-award-winning artist, Janet’s work has been exhibited and collected both nationally and internationally, including by prestigious museums in New York. Her extraordinary talent has also been featured on ABC’s Gardening Australia.

We have had the pleasure of exhibiting Janet’s beautiful work at the Milk Factory Gallery for many years, and it has always attracted admiration from visitors and collectors alike.

One particularly wonderful memory was Janet’s sell-out workshop during her last solo exhibition at the MFG. Her willingness to share her incredible knowledge, techniques and passion with others was so genuine and generous. Those lucky enough to attend were certainly in for a treat!

Janet, thank you for the many years of beautiful artwork, your professionalism, generosity and friendship. It has been an absolute pleasure representing you and sharing your remarkable talent with our gallery visitors.

What a talent! And not just in one artistic field!

Andrew Grassi Kelaher is renowned for his magnificent, richly textured Australian landscapes and seascapes. His distinctive technique brings an extraordinary sense of depth, movement and atmosphere to his paintings.

But Andrew’s creativity doesn’t stop at the canvas! Come winter, you’ll find him in the snowfields of Perisher, creating spectacular large-scale snow sculptures. ❄️

Andrew has been an absolute delight to work with over the years at the Milk Factory Gallery. We particularly loved having him painting in the gallery during his solo exhibition, happily chatting with visitors, sharing his techniques and giving art lovers a fascinating insight into the creative process behind his superb works.

Always friendly, enthusiastic and generous with his time, Andrew brought not only wonderful art to the MFG but also a great deal of personality and warmth.

🎸 SOME THINGS ARE JUST MEANT TO BE!

A very special farewell to STEVE COBURN, renowned Sydney sculptor and creator of some truly extraordinary stainless steel artworks.

Over the years, Steve has brought some absolute showstoppers to the Milk Factory Gallery, pieces that have stopped visitors in their tracks and left us wondering just how he manages to create such incredible works in steel!

But perhaps the most remarkable story is that of his magnificent guitar sculpture, which had become such a familiar part of the MFG over the years.

And then, incredibly, in the very last week before we closed our doors forever, it SOLD! 🎸

After all that time, it finally found its new home. We couldn’t have scripted a better ending!

Beyond his amazing talent, Steve has been one of the most relaxed, easygoing and genuinely lovely artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Never any fuss, always a pleasure, and always something extraordinary to show us.

Thank you, Steve, for the wonderful artworks, the friendship and the memories. It’s been an absolute pleasure having you as part of the MFG family.

And that guitar? Well, it was simply meant to be! ❤️

🌸 A FOND FAREWELL TO JULIE LYNCH 🌸

Some artists come into your gallery life and you immediately wish you’d discovered them years earlier. Julie Lynch is certainly one of those!

Although Julie only joined the Milk Factory Gallery family in recent years, her stunning, vibrant contemporary florals quickly brought a wonderful burst of colour and joy to our walls.

Together with her fabulous range of merchandise inspired by her artwork, we have no doubt that, given more time, Julie would have become one of our biggest-selling artists.

Our only regret is that our paths didn’t cross sooner!

Julie has been an absolute delight to work with — warm, friendly, professional and wonderfully talented.

Thank you, Julie, for sharing your beautiful work with us. It may have been a shorter journey than we would have liked, but it has certainly been a colourful and memorable one! 💐
