Chantal is an accomplished jewellery designer and Stellenbosch University Fine Arts graduate (cum laude) whose career began with a childhood fascination for transforming found objects into wearable treasures. Following her studies, she lectured at her alma mater and established two independent boutiques in Stellenbosch and KwaZulu-Natal, while simultaneously dedicating nearly two decades to private mentorship and workshops. Committed to making artisanal designer jewellery accessible, she eventually transitioned from traditional precious metals to pioneer bespoke, handcrafted collections utilising Britannia metal (an entirely lead-free pewter alloy). Now operating as a multidisciplinary artist based in Montagu, Chantal fuses inspiration from the Klein Karoo’s rugged landscape and organic textures with modern silhouettes to produce a highly distinct, contemporary aesthetic.
