EBONY/CURATED is delighted to present ‘Feilding Light’, the upcoming solo exhibition by contemporary ceramist Katherine Glenday Katherine Glenday .
For more than four decades, Katherine Glenday has developed an expansive practice centred on clay, with porcelain occupying a particularly significant place within her work. Her forthcoming exhibition, ‘Fielding Light’, extends this longstanding engagement, bringing a painterly sensibility to a sustained exploration of the delicate physical and perceptual qualities of the material.
Glenday’s works are distinguished by a close attentiveness to light, translucency and the material’s inherent unpredictability. Rather than treating porcelain as a neutral surface, Glenday works with its instability, allowing traces of the process to remain visible in the finished object. The interplay of opacity and luminosity, weight and delicacy, is central to a body of work that inhabits the space between sculpture and painting.
