Checking in on our 1968 Maxim. She’s been in the shop for a a few weeks getting some things straightened out. We were able to get her out on the road and we are excited to get her back and out to some local shows this summer.

Hockessin Fire Company - Station 19 1967 Autocar is a thing of beauty.

This excellently maintained Autocar has a Hahn fire body, A Hale 1250GPM pump, and a 500 gallon water tank.

As you can tell by the sound this truck also features a 6-71 Detroit Diesel that is paired to a 10 speed Road-Ranger transmission. The 10 speed was chosen due to Hockessin’s district having many hills.

Hockessin takes pride in this truck and is happy to show it off and chances are if you live in the area you have seen it around.

Always something to do. The Dover CF developed a crack on the corner of the front bumper, so thankfully we have friends that can help us out basically at the drop of a hat.

Since acquiring our 1986 Mack CF in February, we have been hard at work restoring it to its original appearance as it served with the Dover Fire Dept. as Engine 3 from 1986 to 2004.

Our goal was to have the engine ready for America's 250th Anniversary celebration in Dover this past Saturday so we could surprise the members of the department with a piece of their history. We are happy to announce that the surprise was a success, and the looks on the members' faces when they saw the truck pull into the parade lineup made all of the hard work worthwhile.

The restoration is not yet complete, and there is still more work to be done. After leaving Dover, the engine continued its career in Crawford County, Arkansas, where it faithfully served the community for another 21 years, remaining in active service until 2025.

We are proud to preserve this important piece of fire service history and look forward to sharing more updates as the restoration progresses.
