This year I’ve found myself drawn more and more toward creating larger, emotive landscapes. Big skies, moving water, dramatic light, and paintings that feel less like a specific place and more like somewhere you can escape into.

I think I’ve realized that’s where I have the most fun: letting the paint get loose, following the light, and seeing where the piece takes me.

My newest, Where the Night Breaks, is a 24 x 48 palette-knife oil inspired by one of my favorite sights, moonlight over the ocean. It’s headed to Eclipse Artisan Boutique in Wilmington today!

I’m excited to keep exploring where these larger escapes take me, and I’m so grateful you’re here to follow along. 🩷🤗

If you don't have the chance to see it in the sky, come see us in person! We represent over 200 local and regional artists. Every piece is one of a kind and handmade with love. 🎨

Join us this Saturday, August, 15th from 12-3 for our Artist Event to meet local ceramicist, Betsy J. Parker!!

Betsy is a local potter and will be doing a 🔴LIVE🔴 demonstration of how she breathes life into clay! 🌞

Hand-building is her preferred process. Animals and happy faces are often the subject matter; and the magic of raku firing one of her favorite firing methods!🔥

All her work is from own original designs. Although, she sometimes repeats popular items or designs, everything is made by hand, so there are always variations which makes each piece one of a kind.💝

"My intention is that anyone who chooses to live with some of my work will find it brings them smiles on a regular basis! There have been awards and ribbons from exhibits and festivals, but my most cherished prizes are the number of smiles the pieces collect along the way." - Betsy 😊

🎨Joining us this Saturday, August 15th from 12-3 is sculptor, Aiden Dale!🎨

Aiden will be showcasing ✨NEW✨ pieces. He is a metalsmith and harnesses the power of a flame to create a unique, colorful design on his handcrafted pieces with intricate details from meticulously cut and torch-colored metal. 🔥

Aiden attended the Emerson Waldorf School for 12 years where he learned the value of creating new things and became intimately linked to colors and their relationships to one another. He developed a deep connection to wood, learning its grain patterns and how to form it with hand tools. 🪵🪓

This led him to pursue a higher education in art at Hampshire College where he focused on metal sculpture, woodworking, bookbinding, printmaking, portrait art and jewelry. 💎

He created a thesis show distilling down the beauty of the world around him; it also wove in human connection and the stories/visuals inherent in both. He incorporated all these concepts into physical pieces you could sit in, hold and behold! 🌳💝
