Last week, our Williams Summer Arts and Museums Immersion Program had the wonderful opportunity to visit Chicago!
The 4-day adventure took students to cultural strongholds throughout the city, including Terra Fdn. for American Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Logan Center Exhibitions, Obama Foundation, Stony Island Arts Bank, Shedd Aquarium, and Field Museum.
The Williams alumni network is out in full force in Chicago, and many Williams alumni and non-Williams alumni alike graciously shared their expertise and knowledge with the cohort. Slide 3 shows students having a blast with Liz Ellrodt ā83 at dinner on the first night!
Across the art spaces visited, students carefully observed and took notes on the ways visitor experience is successfully shaped. As the fall 2027 opening of our new building draws closer, interns will apply this wealth of knowledge to develop and share their recommendations for the space.
Thank you so much to everyone who made this fantastic trip possible, including our extraordinary organizer and chaperones, Rachel Heisler (Associate Curator of Student Engagement & Gallery Learning) and Lisa Dorin (Deputy Director).
