To the mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, and godmothers.
To the aunties who showed up. The neighbors who kept watch.
The friends who mothered without a title.
The ones who are no longer here and the ones we're still becoming.

To every person who taught us to pick up after ourselves โ€”
to leave places better than we found them โ€”
to love this planet like it belongs to all of us.
