We said it before and we'll say it again, this window is really cool!

When the house was painstakingly restored in the 1910s, this three-part casement window frame was considered to be THE major discovery.

Originally this window looked out over a lean-to. When lean-to was removed and an addition added to that side in the early 1700s, the window was boarded up. During the restoration over 200 years later, the plaster was removed and the frame uncovered. A discovery! They went on to uncover remnants of similar windows throughout the house.

This altered what was known about windows around 1700. It was previously believed that period windows were smaller and less frequent!
