Always wonderful to share our fiber creations at our monthly Guild meeting. Rocio's felted vase from our Wednesday Felted Friends group, Jill's wool korokbragd rug (no more blue wool, I'm afraid!), Kathy's 3-D tapestries made on her little loom from the Pomona fiber event. And last, but not least, Randee's long anticipated card weaving workshop! A great time had by all! See you May 18 for bag making!

Thought all our Tapestry peeps would get a kick out of this. Just what is she holding and doing???

I love those little details you stumble upon while traveling...like an antique embroidery of a woman texting on her phone.

Spotted in Kilkenny Castle's parlor, this embroidery fills a screen that genteel women of the day would strategically position between their face and the roaring fire. Back then, a pale, unblemished complexion was considered the pinnacle of beauty; only common folk were tanned and rosy. This screen allowed fancy ladies to enjoy the fire's heat without getting flushed cheeks.

Obviously, this woman is *not* doomscrolling on her phone (despite her sour expression). But once you've seen it...you can't unsee it.

(What *is* she doing? See if you can tell. The answer is below.)
