Diana will share the fascinating story behind her book, "The Mechanical Boy: An Aviation Enthusiast at Henry Ford’s Wayside Inn Boys School", which brings to life her father’s experiences at Henry Ford’s Wayside Inn Boys School and his lifelong interest in aviation.

Diana’s book was named Book of the Year by the Henry Ford Heritage Association in 2026, and books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.

✈️ Fun with Flight is coming to WACO! 🚀

Calling all little aviation explorers! WACO Education Center & Air Museum is offering Fun with Flight, an aeronautical program designed by NASA especially for preschool-age children ages 3–5.

Over four Friday mornings, young learners will explore the science of flight through engaging stories, experiments, and hands-on activities designed to introduce young children to STEM and the world of aviation.

⏰ 9:00–10:30 a.m.
📍 WACO Education Center & Air Museum
💲 $45, including all materials

The countdown is on! ✈️ The 2026 WACO Fly-In takes over the WACO Air Museum September 18–20, with a full weekend of airplanes, rides, food, family activities and plenty of reasons to spend the day with us.

From biplane rides and powered paramotors to the car show, WACO Parade, pancake breakfast, kids activities, R/C airshow, Flour Drop Contest and Saturday evening Fly-In Gala, there’s something happening all weekend long.

✈️ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Help us make the 2026 WACO Fly-In, September 18–20, a weekend to remember!

We’re looking for volunteers to assist with aircraft and vehicle parking, admissions, Fly-Mart, biplane rides, and more. With multiple shifts available throughout the day, it’s easy to find a time that works for you.

As a thank-you, volunteers receive complimentary lunch and FREE admission to the Fly-In all weekend long!

More importantly, your time helps support aviation education in our local community, introduce new generations to general aviation and aviation history, and further the mission of the WACO Education Center & Air Museum.

We love hosting homeschool, private, and public school groups at the WACO Education Center & Air Museum! ✈️

Here are a few pictures from a homeschool group that visited us this week through Richards Chapel United Methodist Church. We love sharing the history of aviation, exploring STEM topics and creating fun, hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages!

Aviation Summer Academy is off to a whirlwind start! 🚁 Campers enjoyed helicopter rides, ground school, simulator flight training, building helicopters, and hearing from an Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot. What an incredible day exploring the exciting world of rotorcraft aviation!

A huge thank-you to Higher Ground Helicopters for providing the helicopter flights and simulator training, and to all of the volunteers who make camp possible. We couldn't do it without you!
